Present: Mr. Mr. Mr. Ms. Mr. Robert Barstow, Acting Chairman Louis Falasca Brian Slavin Marion Reilly Juan Menendez Absent: Mr. Frank Arvan, Chairman Mr. James Margotta, Building Inspector Mr. Robert Barstow called the meeting to order at 8:00 PM. IN THE MATTER OF R. HYLAND. 64 BEEKMAN AVENUE. NORTH TARRYTOWN.NEW YORK There was no representative present for this sign request. IN THE MATTER OF THE OPEN DOOR, 54 BEEKMAN AVENUE. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK This is an application for a sign permit to conform with the new sign ordinance. Mr. Molinelli, architect for the Open Door who had put up the existing sign before the sign ordinance was adopted presented photos of the building and the existing sign. He asked that the Board approve the existing sign with modifications. Discussion ensued on the size of the existing sign and the type of letters to be used. Lou Falasca commented that taking into consideration the age of the building and the constant turnover of tenants leaving so many holes for each new sign put up, he felt that the size of the sign should remain to cover up these large holes in the brick. After more discussion, Juan Menendez moved to approve the sign using three (3) dimensional letters and logo on the existing background, motion was seconded by Brian Slavin and carried 4-0. IN THE MATTER OF DONNA HAUSER. 35 BEEKMAN AVENUE.NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK This is an application for three small individual awnings for the windows at the new Allstate Insurance office. Ms. Hauser presented photos showing the type of awnings and the color (blue and white stripes) that she would like to put on the three windows at her office. Brief discussion ensued; Lou Falasca moved to approve the awnings with the signage, seconded by Brian Slavin and motion carried 4-0. 1 �IN THE MATTER OF HUDSON CANYON CONSTRUCTION.281 NORTH BROADWAY. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK This is an application for approval to repair and renovate the building at the above address. The representative of the construction company showed drawings and plans of the proposed renovations. They would like to make offices, restore the front of the building by cleaning and sandblasting but without changing its facial appearance, and to clean and paint the apartments inside of the building, etc. After a brief discussion, Lou Falasca made a motion to approve the repairs and renovations as submitted in the drawings but without numbers where they exist at the present time, motion was seconded by Juan Menendez and carried 4-0. IN THE MATTER OF RONALD MONTANA. 2 5 POKAHOE DRIVE. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK This is an application for an addition of a second garage with a bedroom suite above the garage. Mr. Andrew Schiffer, architect for Mr. Montana presented the Board with plans for the second garage and the bedroom suite above it. Both will be the same color. Discussion ensued. Mr. Barstow's concern was the size of the proposed extension and the size of the windows and felt that the new addition did not blend with the rest of the house. Mr. Falasca objected to the two (2) large windows, but had no objection to the basic plans. After further discussion, Lou Falasca moved to approve the plans as submitted by the architect with raised panel garage doors with windows in it, seconded by Marion Reilly and motion carried 4-0. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Brian Slavin moved to approve the minutes of the September 23, 1991 minutes as written, seconded by Mrs. Marion Reilly and motion carried 4-0. There being no further business, Robert Barstow adjourned the meeting.
