Present: Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Ms. Mr. Also Present: Frank Arvan, Chairman Brian Slavin Robert Barstow Louis Falasca Marion Reilly Juan Mendenez Mr. James T. Margotta, Building Inspector In the Matter of the Keneally residence. 551 Riverside Drive. North Tarrytown. New York. Mr. Kevin McKenna who is the contractor representing the Kenally's came to the Board showing them pictures of window cuts. He explained that a bay window would be placed on the front side of the house and certain windows would be replaced to conform with the windows on the side of the house. An addition will also be made by installing a railing off the master bedroom. Mr. Slavin made a motion for a window replacement on the side and side front of the house and also for the addition of the railing off the master bedroom to be approved as shown, seconded by Mr. Falasca. Motion Carried. In the Matter of Mark and Nancy Nackman. 279 Farrinaton Avenue. North Tarrytown. New York. Mr. Ferguson is the Architect who is representing the Nackmans. He presented the Board with two sets of photos of the existing home. The intention is to add on as much as possible. This will be a wood frame addition to their kitchen. To match the brick that has been there would have been impossible. This is a two story house and the addition is one story. Mr. Ferguson stated that the roof would be a copper raised, and the pitch would be very shallow. Discussion took place among the Board members concerning the elevation and also being that there is shrubbery, the addition is hardly noticed. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the kitchen addition (as submitted), seconded by Mr. Menendez. Motion Carried. �In the Matter of Paul. John and Frank Amenta. 245 North Broadway. North Tarrvtown. New York. Mr. Paul Amenta stated that he was interested in a directory sign that was similar to the A.T.C. building. It would stand as two soilders at the entrance to the driveway. Both buildings share one driveway. The existing sign that is there now is temporary. This sign has been damaged by vandles. The proposed sign will sit on a brick pedestal, which will be about 32 inches high, 16 inches wide and 6 feet long. The sign will be two inches wider than the sign on each side and the pedestal will be two inches longer on each side. It will be made of the same brick that the new building is made of. The sign will state a simple name and address. The names of the tenants will also appear on the sign. Occupancy may take place in May, 1992. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the new sign (as submitted), seconded by Mr. Menendez. Motion Carried. In the Matter of Gregory Tang. 39 Evergreen Wav. North Tarrvtown. New York. Mr. Anthony Ramano stated that he was representing Mr. Tang. Mr. Ramano showed the Board the addition which is a one story, one room extension for a family room. It is on the south west corner of his lot. There are no zoning variances required for any of the setbacks. The existing setbacks are 40 feet and the new setbacks are 36 feet. The characteristics of the building have a deep shingle roof and a deep shingle exterior to the side with white trim and white gingerbread shutters. The proposed extension is in character with the house. The roof wood shingles need to be replaced. The application includes the reshingling of the existing house roof. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the addition (as submitted) seconded by Ms. Reilly. Motion Carried. In the Matter of Maria-Angelis Manriquez. 64 Beekman Avenue. North Tarrvtown. New York. Ms. Manriques came to the Board and presented pictures of the sign, which is now existing. It is the same sign with a different name. Mr. Barstow stated that it looks like separate signs due to different colors and a different style. Mr. Arvan stated that it was not a big infraction on the Code. Mr. Menendez make a motion to approve the sign (as submitted), seconded by Mr. Slavin. Motion Carried. �In the Matter of Chris Rezza. 44 Beekman Avenue. North Tarrytown. New York 10591. Mr. Arvan stated that the Board would need to speak with the Mayor and the Board of Trustees to determine whether or not the sign code should be enforced. Mr. Rezza stated that he did speak with the Mayor and that there was a meeting with other merchants to discuss the code and possibly try to amend the code. Mr. Rezza stated that he would like to see what the merchants ideas are and discuss them with the Mayor and Board of Trustees. The merchants do want a sign code. Discussion was ensued upon the sign code. A proposal should be submitted by May 1, 1992. A motion was made by Mr. Slavin to table the four existing signs which include 70 Beekman Avenue, 52 Beekman Avenue, 90 Beekman Avenue and 44 Beekman Avenue, until the Merchants, the Architectural Review Board and the Board of Trustees come to a decision concerning the sign code, seconded by Mr. Menendez. Motion Carried. In the Matter of Louis Falasca. Tarrytown. New York. 162 Millard Avenue. North Mr. Falasca stated that he would like to put vinyl siding on his home. Mr. Barstow made a motion to approve the vinyl siding seconded by Ms. Reilly. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the minutes of February 26, 1992 with an explanation made by Mr. Arvan concerning 113 Beekman Avenue, seconded by Mr. Menendez.
