                  <text>Minutes of the Board of Trustees
Village of Sleepy Hollow
A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow was held on Tuesday,
July 22nd, 2008 starting at 6:45 P.M. in the boardroom at Village Hall, 28 Beekman Avenue,
Sleepy Hollow, New York.
Present:

Mayor Philip E. Zegarelli
Deputy Mayor Kay Brown Grala
Thomas Capossela
David L. Schroedel
Karin T. Wompa
Kenneth G. Wray

Robert Ponzini, Village Counsel
Diane Jacobson, Treasurer

Mayor Zegarelli called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.m.
Members of the Ecuadorian Community represented by Jorge Lopez Amaya and Manuel Crespo
thanked the Mayor, Board of Trustees and Sean McCarthy and presented them with plaques in
appreciation for the improvements made to Barnhart Park.
The Mayor gave an update on the Catskill Aqueduct shut town and Water upgrades and
distributed a related memo to the Board.
Deputy Mayor Grala recommended revisiting the idea of having the Village become a Greenway
Compact Community.
Robert Ponzini distributed information to the Board related to a new leaf blower ordinance. The
Board discussed the pros and cons of this issue.
The Board tabled the approval of a cultural group parade at Barnhart Park until the Park work is
completed.
The Mayor will refer the Immaculate Conception Church Fall Festival to Chief Warren. The
Board recommends that the event take place on the same day as the Ferry-Go-Round (Sept 14)
and that the times befrom6:00 to 11:00 p.m.

�The Mayor recommended setting the Barnhart Park dedication in late September.
Diane Jacobson gave the Board documents for review related to claims and budget transfers.
Trustee Capossela raised concerns about the work being done at Barnhart Park and that strong
efforts need to be made to complete the project.
There was a discussion to change the ambulance recovery company. The Board wanted to
confirm that the Village can end the contract with the old company.
SPECIAL SESSION - Motion was made by Trustee Schroedel and seconded by Trustee Wompa
to approve the Warrant of July 8, 2008 in the amount of $383,772.02. The motion passed 6-0.
At 7:52 p.m., on a motion made by Trustee Schrodel and seconded by Deputy Mayor Grala, the
Board moved to executive session to discuss personnel matters related to police, public works
and recreation departments.
At 8:17p.m., on a motion made by Deputy Mayor Grala seconded by Trustee Wompa and carried
unanimously the executive session was adjourned.
