August 26th, 1992 A regular meeting of the Architectural Review Board was held on the above date at Village Hall, North Tarrytown, New York. PRESENT: Frank Arvan, Chairman Marion Reilly Brian Slavin Louis Falasca ABSENT: Juan Menendez Robert Barstow Chairman Arvan called the meeting to order a,t 8:10 P.M. 1. P.J. Apparel Outlet, 106 Pocantico Street-Sign Mr. Margotta stated that the sign had been removed, and he was directed to send a letter regarding their intentions. 2L Greene County Importing, Beekman Avenue-Sign Chairman Arvan stated he was in receipt of the sign application and asked the owner for further information. After a discussion, Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Ms. Reilly to approve the application as requested. Carried. 3. The Catering Deli, (J. Yosifides) 62 Beekman Avenue-Awning Mr. Dan Burke, representing the owner, outlined the application as presented to the Board. He stated that the awning would be recovered in maroon and gray material and the size of the letters would conform to the code. Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Mr. Slavin to approve the awning application as submitted. Carried. 4. Adele Curtin, Sushi Raku Restaurant, 275-279 No. BroadwaySign Mr. Curtin, owner of the property, stated that the sign and the post had been installed seven years ago, at the request of the Administrator and the Mayor, at a cost of $1,600. He stated he recently received a notice of violation of the sign ordinance. He stated that coming south on Route 9 the sign is barely visible, and coming north it is visible. The village planted trees near the curb and they almost cover the entire sign. He would request a granting of a variance to allow the sign to remain. �-2Discussion followed regarding the sign, and Mr. Falasca stated the sign was installed prior to the ordinance and felt there was nothing wrong with the sign. Mr. Arvan stated that the property was well kept and felt the sign suited the area. Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Ms. Reilly that a variance be granted approving the existing sign. Carried. 5. Donna B. Ross, 3 Highland Avenue-Addition. Chairman Arvan, stated he was representing the applicant and stepped down as Chairman. Mr. Arvan stated that the project would take two years to complete, and approximately 4,000 square feet of space would be added. He stated that a dormer would be constructed and the building would be stuccoed after completion. Mr. Falasca, acting as Chairman, asked several questions regarding construction of the addition. Mr. Slavin moved, seconded by Ms. Reilly to grant permission for the construction of the addition. Carried. Mr. Arvan stated that the applicants will have to go before the Zoning Board for approval as the house is nonconforming because of the rear yard set back. MINUTES Mr. Slavin moved, seconded by Mr. Falasca that the Minutes of the meeting held on July 22nd, 1992 be approved as submitted. Carried. There being no further business to come before the Board, Ms. Reilly moved, seconded by Mr. Slavin that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
