�The Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow held a meeting on Tuesday, September 8,
2009, in Village Hall, 28 Beekman Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, New York
Present:

At 7:10 p.m., the Mayor called the meeting to order with a pledge to the flag. There was a
moment of silence for the passing of Brittany Fitzgerald.
The Mayor announced that the Riversedge Public Hearing was adjourned.
Minutes Approved
Trustee Carr made a correction to page 2 of the minutes under Trustee Reports. The minutes
should have read "slow food event at the Washington Irving School to advocate good nutrition in
public schools"
Motion was made by Trustee Campbell and seconded by Trustee Stupel to approve the minutes
of the August 25, 2009 Board Meeting (as amended) Motion carried 7-0
Approval of Warrants
Trustee Carr had a question about the tipping fee and water rates.
The Mayor requested that Rich Gross make a presentation to the Board on this at the next Work
Session.
Trustee Carr asked about the Bamhart Streetscape Project
Trustee Wompa wanted to know what the Village spends on the nutrition program and
recommended that the Village consider moving it at the new senior center.

�Trustee Schroedel moved, seconded by Trustee Caposella to approve Warrant 08SEP09 in the
amount of $356,717.25. Motion carried 7-0
Mayor's Announcements
The Mayor mentioned the untimely passing of Brittany Fitzgerald. She was a Village employee
and recent Sleepy Hollow High School graduate. The Mayor sent out condolences to her family
and friends.
The Mayor announced that there will be several events taking place in Sleepy Hollow this
Sunday, September 13,2009. At 8:30, there will be a 9/11 memorial event at Patriots Park. The
swim-a-thon, street fair and Immaculate Conception Church Bazaar will also be taking place.
The Mayor encouraged everyone to attend these events.
Public Comments
Mr. Mario Belanich of 153 North Washington Avenue, Sleepy Hollow asked the Board about
the status of General Motors. The Mayor responded by saying that discussion with General
Motors is ongoing and he had spoken with them recently. Any news will be shared with the
public.
Trustee Reports
Trustee Schroedel reported that the Public Safety Committee met with representatives from the
ambulance corp. to discuss training and vehicle use. The Public Saftey Committee supports the
ambulance corp. reinstating its fly car.
Trustee Carr reported that, although it needs to be removed, the Douglas Park fern garden was a
success, Ms. Carr reminded the residents about Second Sunday and the street fair.
Trustee Campbell reported that the October 6,2009 work session will be held at Kendal on
Hudson at 7:30pm. All residents can attend and will have the opportunity to speak.
Trustee Capossela reported that Kingsland Point Park field will be reseeded, the Devries ball
field lights are going out to bid and this week the holiday schedule for trash removal is in effect.
Trustee Wompa reported that the Administration Committee supports the hiring of a purchasing
agent to replace the deputy clerk position. Ms. Wompa requested a tour of the new senior center
building.
Trustee Stupel reported that the interview process for a code enforcer is almost complete and a
recommendation will be made shortly.

�Administrators Report
Mr. Giaccio reminded the community of all the upcoming events this weekend. Mr. Giaccio said
that the Village staff is prepared to handle these events.
Village Architect reported on the Senior Center (attached)
Amended Agenda
Two resolutions were added to the agenda. The Mayor said the public will have the opportunity
to read the resolutions and comment on them before a vote.
Executive Session
At 7:45p.m., on a motion made by Trustee Campbell and seconded by Trustee Schroedel and
carried unanimously the Board moved to Executive Session to discuss legal matters.
At 8:00 p.m., on a motion made by Trustee Campbell and seconded by Trustee Schroedel and
carried unanimously the Board moved out of executive session.

On motion by Trustee Carr, seconded by Trustee Schroedel, the meeting was adjourned at
approximately 8:10 p.m.
