Members Present: Absent: Frank Arvan Also Present: James Margotta Louis Falasca Building Inspector Robert Barstow Brian Slavin Marian Reilly Juan Menendez IN THE MATTER OF THE TARRY TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK. INN, 48 BEEKMAN AVENUE, NORTH A representative from the Tarry Inn came before the Board and stated that there are plans for the existing sign. The awning is a typical awning that has been approved. Mr. Arvan stated that even though it exists it is still non-conforming. All situations concerning signs are treated differently. This sign is not really seen. Mr. Slavin made a motion to approve the awning and sign even though it is non-conforming, seconded by Mr. Falasca. Motion carried unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF IRENE TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK. CALLAS, 2 5 BEEKMAN AVENUE, NORTH A representative for Irene Callas came before the Board and presented pictures of the sign. Mr. Falasca stated that he has no objections. The sign adds character but it should be checked out structurely and also polished up. Mr. Slavin stated that there is historic value. A motion was made by Mr. Falasca that the existing sign be approved as is with a recommendation by a sign contractor; so that it is stucturely safe, seconded by Mr. Barstow. Motion carried unanimously. �IN THE NATTER OF DONALD AND MARGO STEVER, 157 MILLARD AVENUE, NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK. Mr. Stever stated that they had decided to have a bedroom and a family room. Mr. Arvan asked if the portion that stands out will be stucco? Mr. Stever stated yes. Discussion ensued. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the addition seconded by Mr. Slavin. Motion carried unanimously. IN THE NATTER OF CHRISTINE MANGIERI, 404 NORTH BROADWAY, NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK. A representative for Christine Mangieri stated that the building is a tudor. An awning has always been up but she would like a waterfall awning the same size and with the number of the building put on it. It would be a raised vinyl, dark green with gold lettering. It was recommended by the Board to be centered on the Building. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the awning with centering the sign on the facade as a modification seconded by Mr. Slavin. Motion carried unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF THE NORTH TARRYTOWN ASSOCIATES, NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK. Mr. Pateman came before the board and distributed plans concerning the sign which is a display sign while nder construction. This is a temporary sign. Mr. Arvan stated that he would like to put a time limit as to how long the sign should remain there. One year was suggested by the Board. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve both signs as submitted for a period of one year seconded by Mr Slavin. Motion carried unanimously. �IN THE MATTER OF BEDFORD PARK ASSOCIATES, 27 AMOS STREET, NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK. Mr. Arvan stated that this is one of 14 houses which are modular. Mr. Arvan asked Mr. Pateman how each unit would change. Mr. Pateman stated that most people are interested in colonial housing. There are various sizes. When setbacks permit, some units will have porches. There are color variation, window layouts and other substantial differences. Discussion ensued. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the foot print plan that will be submitted by Mr. Pateman the week of November 2, 1992 with various changes which include two windows in the corridor on one side of the modular, trim around the windows, lights on the garage door and also as suggested windows on the garage door seconded by Mr. Slavin. (This particular plan may be approved by the chairman after consultation with other Board members). MINUTES A motion was made by Mr. Falasca to approve the minutes of August 26, 1992, seconded by Mr. Slavin. Motion carried unanimously. A motion was made by Mr. Slavin to approve the minutes of September 23, 1992, seconded by Mr. Barstow. Motion carried unanimously. Therefore, being no further business, this meeting was adjourned.
