Present: Mayor Kenneth G. Wray Thomas Capossela Karin T. Wompa David L. Schroedel Bruce R. Campbell Evelyn R. Stupel Barbara J. Carr Trustees Also Present: Anthony Giaccio, Village Administrator Janet Gandolfo, Village Attorney John Kapica, Police Chief Sean McCarthy, Village Architect Mayor Wray called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. MAHOPAC BANK HANDICAP RAMP REQUEST ~ A representative from Mahopac Bank made a presentation to the Board to install a handicap ramp on the sidewalk in front of the bank on Beekman Avenue. Mayor Wray referred the matter to the Planning Board. SENIOR CITIZEN'S CENTER -Sean McCarthy updated the Board on the Senior Center. Contract dates are scheduled to be completed on May 8. The project is moving along well. Mr. McCarthy will be meeting with the senior citizens to update them on the project. COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE - Chief Kapica made a recommendation to establish a citizen advisory group that could help residents and police communicate better. Mr. Kapica suggested that members of the Committee should represent all parts of the Village as well as the School. The Board was in favor of this the idea. AUTOMOBILE POLICY ~ Mr. Giaccio submitted a draft automobile policy that would address Village employees and volunteers with poor driving records. Discussion ensued. ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE - The Board discussed the upcoming St. Patrick's parade. POST LEAD MECHANIC POSITION - Rich Gross made a request to the Board to post a job opening in the garage for lead mechanic. Discussion ensued. �BUILDING CODE REVISION - The Board reviewed a draft of the illegal housing code revisions submitted by the Housing Committee. The Board recommended several changes from the original draft. Discussion will continue at the next work session. SURVEY FOR ROUTE 9 STREETSCAPE PROJECT - Mr. Giaccio informed the Board that a request for proposal was done for a survey related the Route 9 Streetscape Project Several companies submitted proposals. The Board reviewed the bid summary. HOME RULE REQUEST - Mr. Giaccio informed the Board that when certain police officers were hired, the Village failed to notify them that they had options related to their retirement benefits. In order to correct this mistake, the Board has to make a home rule request to the State. FACILTY USE REQUEST - The Board reviewed a request made by the Jessica Santos Foundation to have an event at either Bamhart Park or Kingsland Point Park. EXECUTIVE SESSION At 8:47 p.m., on a motion made by Trustee Schroedel and seconded by Trustee Carr and carried unanimously, the Board moved into executive session to discuss legal matters. At 9:30, on a motion made by Trustee Schroedel and seconded by Trustee Campbell and carried unanimously, the Board moved out of executive session. At 9:31 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
