https://sleepyhollow.localarchives.org/files/original/86ac12036e62e462dd0bc42c6e2deeed.pdf ffa847656ef118cb09ed11bbe64440cd PDF Text Text Meeting Date: 3/09/2010 Resolution #: 3/39/2010 Resolution Establishing a Police/Community Advisory Committee WHEREAS, the residents of the Village of Sleepy Hollow depend on their police force to maintain peace and order and protect property and human rights; and WHEREAS, the police and residents of the Village share reciprocal obligations of trust and respect; and WHEREAS, it is vita! that the people of Sleepy Hollow have confidence in their police and that the police know, understand and acknowledge the needs and expectations of the people they serve; and WHEREAS, regular communication between Village residents and the Police department can only facilitate understanding, enhance sensitivity, increase respect for both the police and the citizenry and engender greater confidence in the fair and evenhanded administration of justice; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that to encourage dialogue and promote greater understanding between the police and the community they serve, there is hereby established a Police/Community Advisory Committee to be composed of no more than 20 yillage residents, appointed by the Village Board to serve staggered 2 year terms (i) to advise the Sleepy Hollow Chief of Police on issues and concerns of interest to local residents; (ii) to make recommendations regarding recruitment and training policies and practices; (iii) in conjunction with and coordinated by the Chief of Police, to undertake and organize educational outreach initiatives to Village residents, particularly its youth regarding drug abuse, careers in law enforcement and as otherwise mutually agreed; and (iv) to assess the needs and priorities of the Police department and assist in the planning for the future law enforcement needs of the Village; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Trustees of the Public Safety Committee shall be the Village Board's designated representative and official liaison to the Police/Community Advisory Committee. Moved: Trustee Wompa Seconded: Trustee Stupe Vote: 6-0 �Meeting Date; Resolution #: 03/9/2010 03/41/2010 Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow Accepting a Proposal for a Survey Related to the Route 9 Streetscape Project WHEREAS, on January 22, 2010 the Village Engineer sent a Request for Proposal to surveyors for the Route 9 Streetscape Project (summary attached); and WHEREAS, Badey & Watson Surveying & Engineering, P.C. has been identified as submitting the lowest proposal for these services in the amount of $18,794.50; and WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has determined that this proposal is acceptable and has recommended its approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees accepts a proposal from Badey & Watson Surveying & Engineering, P.C. for a survey related to the Route 9 Streetscape Project in the amount of $18,794.50 and authorizes the Mayor to take any and all such steps as are necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk, with the assistance of the Village's Labor Counsel, are authorized to take such steps as are necessary to enroll all eligible Village police officers in the twenty year retirement plan.
