                  <text>Minutes of the Board of Trustees
Village of Sleepy Hollow

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow held a Board Meeting on Tuesday,
February 28,2012 at the Sleepy Hollow Village Hall,28 Beekman Avenue, Sleepy Hollow,N.Y.
Present:

Mayor Kenneth G. Wray
Deputy Mayor Thomas Capossela
Bruce Campbell
Barbara Carr
Karin Wompa
Evelyn Stupel
David Schroedel

Trustees

Also Present: Anthony Giaccio,Village Administrator
Janet Gandolfo, Village Attorney
Sara DiGiacomo, Village Treasurer
Greg Camp,Police Chief
Rich Gross, General Foreman
At 7:10 p.m. the Mayor called the meeting to order pledge to the flag. There was a moment of
silence for the mother of former village trustee Sandra Morales who recently passed away.
Approval of Warrants: Trustee Carr moved,seconded by Trustee Schroedel to approve

warrant 12FEB28 in the amount of$421,530.68. Motion carried 6-0
Approval of Minutes: Trustee Campbell moved,seconded by the Trustee Carr to approve the

minutes for February 7, 2012,Motion Carried 6-0
Trustee Schroedel moved,seconded by the Trustee Capossela to approve the minutes for
February 21,2012. Mayor Wray noted that there was an error in the minutes because Deputy
Mayor opened the Board of Assessment Review meeting. Motion Carried as amended 4-0
(Wompa and Campbell abstained)
Mayor's Announcements: Mayor Wray announced that he received a poem about Sleepy

Hollow from Daniel D. Desmaris. The poem will be on display at Village Hall.
Mayor Wray announced that on May 6,2012 there will be a ceremony at the Sleepy Hollow
Cemetery to honor members of the National Guard who died guarding the Catskill Aqueduct
during World War I .

�Public Comments:

Mario Belenich asked about cameras at the senior center.
Susan McFarlane requested an update on the sink hole along the Riverwalk at Ichabod's
Landing.
Trustee Reports:

Trustee Schroedel announced that the water tank bond resolution was removed from the agenda.
Trustee Carr announced that there will be community clean up days on April 22, 28 and May 5 at
various parks throughout the Village.
Trustee Campbell proposed exploring the idea of creating a parks and recreation advisory
committee.
Deputy Mayor Capossela gave a DPW report. The DeVries Park fence is complete. The new
sweeper is ready for service. Deputy Mayor Capossela met with Rich Gross to inspect an
exposed water main on Gory Brook Road. Rich Gross was out sick this week.
Trustee Wompa reported that new garbage cans for Beekman Avenue have been ordered.
Trustee Stupel reported that Court was in session on February 23 and there were six illegal
housing cases. A total of$11,750 in fines were received.
Administrator Report:

Mr. Giaccio reported that he is getting prices to power wash the downtown sidewalks.
Repairing the sink hole at Ichabod's Landing is a top priority.
There was a planning meeting for the half marathon, which will be held on March 24.
Mayor Wray, Sean McCarthy and Mr. Giaccio met with County officials and Scenic Hudson to
discuss the certificate of occupancy requirements for the bathhouse.
The mobile shredder, which was parked in the Beekman Avenue parking lot,caught fire. The
Fire Department responded quickly preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings.
Mr. Giaccio stated that prior to this week, Rich Gross had not taken any sick days in at least 4
years.

Public Comments:

Sunny McLean from Community Media invited the Board to tour their new public access studios
at 54 Main Street in Tarrytown and at the James House. Ms. McLean asked to be on a work
session agenda.
On motion by Trustee Schroedel, Seconded by Trustee Carr the meeting was adjourned at
8:15 p.m.
