PRESENT: .lann-s Nazametz, Chairman Marian Reilly Elvira Aloia Sean McCarthy ABSENT: Juan Menendez Brian Slavin Louis falasca James Margotta, Building Inspector ALSO PRESENT: Jeff McGovern, Attorney Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:10 P.M. 1. Mr. & Mrs. Dominick fanelli, 109 Bedford Road, Continuation. Mr. Fanelli presented revised plans showing retaining wall as discussed at the November meeting. Mr. McCarthy stated that the plans as presented were as the Board suggested. Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Mrs. Reilly to approve the revised plans as submitted. Carried. 2. China House Restaurant-Mr. Penn-52 Beekman Avenue-Sign. Mr. Perm presented pictures of neon sign that has been installed in his window. Mr. Nazemetz informed Mr. Peim that the sign does not conform to the requirements of the code. Discussion followed regarding "phone number" being on the sign which is not allowed by the code. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mrs. Reilly to table the matter until the February meeting so the Board could confer with the Building Inspector. Carried. 3. VonLosberg/Malofsky, 10 Evergreen Way-Addition. Architect for Mr. VonLosberg presented plans for second story addition over the garage section of the present house. Mr. McCarthy stated he felt the windows as planned would leave an unbalanced look to the rear of the addition. After discussion, Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mrs. Aloia to approve the plans as submitted with the suggestion Mr. VonLosberg consider the changes to the windows. Carried. 4. George Samares, 175 Valley Street-Sign. Mr. Samares presented pirctues of neon sign to be installed inside of window at 175 Valley Street. Mr. Samares stated that the size of the sign would be two foot by 10 inches. Discussion followed regarding colors of sign and size of window. Mrs. Reilly moved, seconded by Mrs. Aloia to approve request as submitted. Carried. 5. Susan & Peter Sechiano, 24 Lakeview Avenue-Sign. Mrs. Sechiano presented pictures of proposed "No Trespassing" sign and asked for the Board's approval. Mr. Nazemetz stated he had received a letter from Edmond Stoecklein, 21 Lakeview Avenue objecting to the sign. Mrs. Sechiano stated that had called the police as many people were trespassing on their property. After discussion, Mrs. Sechiano was directed to confer with the Building Inspector on the type of sign that could be installed on the property. She also agreed to remove the sign. Mr. Nazametz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the application for a sign permit be denied, as mutually agreed, and that the sign be removed until Mrs. Sechiano confers with the Building Inspector. Carried. 6. Gerald Bregman, 185 Valley Street-Addition. Ron Turnquist, Architect, presented pictures and model of proposed project, and outlined plans for the renovation and addition to the building at 185 Valley Street. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the plans be approved as requested except the roof of the tower be of metal type, as discussed with the Board, and subject to budget costs. Carried. MINUTES Mrs. Reilly moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to approve the minutes of the meeting held on December 22nd, 1993 as submitted. Carried. There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Mrs. Aloia that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
