IN THE MATTER OF THE ROCK OF 8ALVATION CHURCH, 131 CORTLANDT STREET. NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK Mr. Ron Turnquist came before the Board and stated that he was the Architect for the above project. This project has already been before the Planning and Zoning Boards and has received the variances needed. Mr. Turnquist stated that he would like to start construction soon. The existing windows would be replaced with awning windows with a glass block which is 3 1/2 inches thick. A ripple, clear or color pattern is available. The windows that are going to be used are transparent with a distorted finish. The border of the window is white. The left entrance leads to the day care center. Aluminum glass block will be used for the front door. The main entrance of the day care center will be using large stucco doors because the side elevation is stucco. There is only one handicap entrance. The work will be done in different phases. To create the total project would be very costly. The day care center has not been approved by either the Planning Board or the Zoning Board. Mr. Nazemetz stated that a sand color may look better on the window frames. Mr. Nazemetz asked if the front rehabilitation would be the first phase. Mr. Turnquist stated yes because now there are broken windows and there is no proper egress. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve the first phase of the project with a condition that the frames on the windows would be a sand color, seconded by Mr. Slavin. Motion carried unanimously. �IN THE MATTER OF BRIAN AND JOAN COLLINS. 146 WEBBER AVENUE, NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK 10591 Mr. Margotta stated that the above matter will be placed on next months agenda. IN THE MATTER OF DR. ANA LEROY. 232 NORTH WASHINGTON STREET. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK 10591 A tenant from 232 North Washington Street stated that she was not sure of the signs that were allowed to be placed on the window and that $900. had already been spent. At this point the sign had been moved slightly the correct change was not completed. Mr. McCarthy stated that the sign was too big for the window. The sign can only take up 10% of the window. At this point the Board recommended that the tenant see a sign contractor who is familiar with the Village Sign Code and return to the Architectural Review Board in August or September of 1994. IN THE MATTER OF 76 BEEKMAN AVENUE. (NUEVAS COMMUNICATIONS) NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK 10591 Mr. Bob Taylor stated that he was the architect for the above project. He apologized for the way the signs were put up. He was not trying to divert the code. Mr. Taylor stated that the owner definitely has to clean up the window. The banner has been taken down. The variety store sign has to be taken down and the repairs will be made once it has been removed. Mr. Nazemetz stated that the sign is 21 square feet and the window measurement is 17 square feet. Mr. Falasca stated that there could be a basic sign to say Nuevas Communication Travel, but all other signs that characterize services should be taken down. Mr. Falasca made a motion that IMMIGRATION - ENVIOS be removed or disconnected and the owner must apply for a new sign with 30 days, seconded by Mr. Slavin. Motion carried unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF 17 5 HARWOOD AVENUE. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK 10591 Mr. Andrew Bozzi who is the architect of the above project stated that he would be striping the aluminum siding and replacing it with white cedar. He will repeat what is there now. The window frames would be exactly the same. He will start with the garage and will use stainless steel fasteners. The trim will also be white cedar. �A motion was made by Mr. Nazemetz to approve the said plans, seconded by Mr. Falasca. Motion carried unanimously. MINUTES A motion was made by Mr. Nazemetz to approve the minutes of June 22, 1994 with the member present names to be changed to read Sean McCarthy rather than Edward McCarthy, seconded by Mr. Falasca. Motion carried unanimously. Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
