Present: James Nazemetz, Chairman Elvira Aloia Sean McCarthy Brian Slavin Louis Falasca Marion Reilly Barbara Fina Absent: James Margotta, Building Inspector Jeffrey McGovern, Jr. Attorney Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM. 1. Mr. Cesar Urrutia - 230 N. Washington Street- Sign Continued They did not appear before the Board. 2. John & Dorothy Monaco-53 Fremont Road- Erection of Fence They did not appear before the Board. The Board needs drawings and plans before they can appear at the next meeting. 3. Frank Paolantonio - Webber Avenue - New Residence Sam Viera, Architect representing Frank Paolantonio commented that when he appeared before the Board in September, there was a tie vote to approve the plans as submitted and they were under the impression that a tie vote meant it had been approved, but after consulting with Counsel, this was not true, so he is back again for approval. He presented was said at present at concern over the drawings to the Board again and reiterated what the September meeting to those members who were not that meeting.Discussion ensued on the roof, and the railing and columns. Mr. Viera commented that since this is going to be a modular home, they are limited in what can be done. Mr. Slavin commented that the Board is just trying to avoid problems that have previously occurred in that area. After discussion, Lou Falasca moved to approve the application as submitted, second by Chairman Jim Nazemetz and carried on roll call vote 4-3 with Mr. Falasca, Mr. Slavin, Ms. Reilly and Chairman Nazemetz voting yes and Mr. McCarthy, Ms. Fina and Ms. Aloia voting no. 4. Omar Rivero-15 Elm Street-Review Robert Barstow, Architect representing Mr. Rivero, presented drawing showing the revision of existing windows to bay windows. They want to modify the existing facade of their 1 1/2 story residence. He showed photos of the house as it exists now. After a brief discussion, Lou Falasca moved to approve plans as submitted, second by Marion Reilly and motion carried 6-0. �5. Kathleen Bar3tow-11 Pine Street- Review Robert Barstow representing himself presented a revision of the previous plans for building a room over the porch. He wants to change from vinyl siding to cedar shingles which would conform with the houses on either side of his home. After a brief discussion, Lou Falasca moved to approve plans as submitted to match existing turnposts, and a typical six over one window to match existing windows, motion seconded by Sean McCarthy and carried 6-0. 6. Greta Alcivar-232 N. Washington St.-Sign continued Mr. Alcivar commented that they were before the Board two months ago for a sign for their store. He showed the Board a drawing of the proposed sign. After reviewing the sign, the Board commented that this sign does not meet the code since it is not three dimensional. Lou Falasca moved to approve a temporary sign, "GREWAL VIDEO & NOVEDADES" in the window of the store until a proper three dimensional sign is submitted to the Board for approval at the meeting of January 25, 1995 or December 28, 1994 meeting if sign is ready earlier. Sean McCarthy seconded the motion and carried 6-0. 7. Landrv/s Taxi-72 BeeXman Avenue- Sign Donald Landry presented the Board with a sketch of the proposed sign which will be painted on the inside of the glass window. The Board stated they needed a scale drawing of the letters in the window and a scale drawing of the window also. They discussed whether or not telephone numbers should be allowed on the sign. After a brief discussion, Brian Slavin moved to approve the existing temporary sign for sixty days or sooner if all the proper information is available by the meeting in December. Marion Reilly seconded the motion and motion carried 6-0. Approval of Minutes Sean McCarthy moved, second by Lou Falasca to approve the minutes of July 27, 1994 meeting as submitted, motion carried 6-0. Brian Slavin moved, second by Sean McCarthy to approve the minutes August 24, 1994 as submitted, motion carried 6-0. Brian Slavin moved, second by Barbara Fina to approve the minutes of October 26, 1994, motion carried 6-0. Discussion followed on Caprice Travel at 64 Beekman Avenue. The members of the Architectural Review Board wanted the Building Inspector to issue a summons to the owner of this property for various sign code violations. There being no further business, Marion Reilly made a motion to adjourn the meeting, second by Lou Falasca and carried.
