Present: Mayor Kenneth G. Wray Deputy Mayor Jennifer Lobato-Church Bruce Campbell Susan MacFarlane Glenn Rosenbloom Evelyn Stupel Karin Wompa, Trustees Also Present: Anthony P. Giaccio, Village Administrator Paula A. McCarthy Tompkins, Village Clerk Sara DiGiacomo, Village Treasurer Janet Gandolfo, Village Counsel Sean E. McCarthy, Village Building Inspector Gregory Camp, Police Chief At 7:02 p.m. Mayor Wray called the meeting to order with a pledge to the flag and a moment of silence for John Zoumboulis, owner of the Horseman Restaurant, John Downing, longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow and Lena Kocovic, former employee. Public Hearing: Public Hearing: Hours of Operations for Barber Shops and other similar Establishments in the Village: Mayor Wray opened the meeting to the public and evoked the 5 minute rule. The Village clerk read the notice aloud for the record. David Ortiz attorney for D'John's barber shop addressed the Mayor and the Board of Trustees on behalf of Mr. Fernandez, and stated that the barbershop has had a reputable reputation for the last 12 years; Mr. Fernandez himself, is a good man with 4 kids and lives locally. People do congregate in the area but there are other establishments nearby. Mr. Ortiz submitted a copy of a foil request regarding police calls to that location. Yana Fernandez, owner of D'Johns' barber shop, addressed the Mayor and the Board of Trustees (Mr. Ortiz translated) and stated that he has no problems with the law and he'd like to know why some people are so negative about his barber shop business. Jose Hidalgo of Sleepy Hollow addressed the Mayor and the Board of Trustees and stated that he disagrees that barber shops should have restricted hours of operations. There were no further comments at this time.
