OF THE
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD
JULY 12, 199S

A special meeting of the North Tarrytown Architectural Review Board was
held on July 12, 1995 at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Hall, 28 Beekman Avenue, North
Tarrytown, New York 10591.
PRESENT:

James Naze.metz, Chairman
Sean McCarthy
Louis Falasca
Barbara Fina
Elvira Aloia
Robert Barstow

ABSENT:

Marion Reilly

ALSO PRESENT:

James T. Margotta, Building Inspector
Jeffrey B. McGovern, Attorney

Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M.
Chairman appointed Jeffrey B. McGovern as Secretary of the Meeting.
1.

IN THE MATTER OF OPEN DOOR FAMILY MEDICAL GROUP
BEEKMAN AVENUE - REQUEST NEW LOGO FOR AWNING.

Michael Molinelli of Michael Molinelli and Associates Architects appeared before the
Board to request a change of the previously approved logo for the above clinic to read as
follows: "The Open Door Family Medical Group".
Discussion followed regarding lettering styles and the uniformity of the name change
to all areas of the building. The resolution was that the lettering will be solid block type
and all areas of the building which were to read Open Door would now read Open Door
Family Medical Group.
A motion was made to approve the change by Mr. McCarthy and seconded by Mr.
Falasca. Unanimously carried.

IN THE MATTER OF OLD DUTCH CHURCH
NORTH BROADWAY - REQUEST FOR APPROVAL FOR NEW SIGN.
Reverend Vanderhart appeared before the Board on behalf of the Old Dutch Church,

Reverend Vanderhart was asked to bring in the interchangeable letters which are
to be used on the bottom portion of the sign (the purpose of this part of the sign is to tell
the community of upcoming events held at, or associated with, the church).
A lengthy discussion ensued with a resolution being brought by Mr. Barstow to
approve the sign as submitted which was seconded by Mr. McCarthy. Carried. Ms. Fina
and Ms. Aloia voted no.

3.

IN THE MATTER OF ANDREA AND ELIOT MARTONE
18 FARRINGTON AVENUE - REQUEST APPROVAL FOR NEW ADDITION.

Mr. Martone presented the Board with the plans of the proposed addition to be
constructed on his home.
Discussion followed regarding the feasibility and detailing of certain aspects of the
plans (i.e. front entrance brick, garage roof overhang and upper railings).
Mr. Nazemetz made a notion to approve the plans as submitted with the following
exceptions:
Re-submission of front entrance
Re-submission of garage roof overhang
Re-submission of railing details
Mr. Nazemetz also moved to allow Mr. Martone to go ahead and get his building
permit in order to start construction; however,the above referenced re-submission portions
of the job may not be done until Board gives their final approval based upon the resubmissions.
Seconded by Mr. Falasca. Unanimously carried.

IN THE MATTER OP JOSEPH FERREIRA
300 N. WASHINGTON STREET - REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF REVISED PLANS.

Mr. Ferreira appeared before the Board and presented them with a set of revised
plans for the front porch located at the above address.
Discussion followed with Mr. Barstow moving to approve the revised plans as
submitted with the following additions: •
The 4 X 4 posts are to be routed
Lattice is to be placed all around the porch
Seconded by Mr. Falasca. Unanimously carried.

5.

CATHERINE GUARNERI
26 ELM STREET . REVISED PLANS FOR GARAGE.

Mr. McCarthy appeared before the Board on behalf of Mrs. Guarneri and submitted
the revised plans for the garage located at the above address.
Discussion followed with Mr. Falasca moving to approve the re-submission of
Drawing "A" (8 ft. door with lights on both sides). Seconded by Mr. Nazemetz. Carried.
Mr. McCarthy abstained.
MINUTES

Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. Falasca, that approval of the Minutes
of the last meeting be held over to the next regular meeting (July 26, 1995).

There being no further business to come before the meeting, Mr. Falasca moved,
seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
