                  <text>Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow
Appointing Deputy Village Clerk in the Village Clerk's Office
Whereas, the Village Clerk has recommended the hiring of a Deputy Village Clerk to fill a
full-time position in the Clerk's Department; and
Whereas, on April 28, 2015 the Board of Trustees adopted the 2015-2016 budget and
authorized the Village Clerk's recommendation, and
Whereas, Joan E. Bucci, has worked part-time in the Village Clerk's office since November
2013, and is familiar with all aspects of the job and responsibilities, and
Whereas, the Village Clerk is recommending that Joan E. Bucci of Tarrytown, be hired as a
full-time Deputy Village Clerk in the Clerk's Department, at a starting salary of $50,000.00 and
all other terms and conditions of employment should apply.
Now Be It Resolved, that the Board of Trustees, on the recommendation of the Village Clerk
do hereby confirm the Mayor's appointment of Joan E. Bucci, at an annual salary of $50,000.00
and all other terms and conditions of employment should apply.
Be It Further Resolved that Joan E. Bucci starting date will be June 1, 2015, and said
appointment is subject to the approval of the Westchester County Department of Human
Resources and a probationary period of twelve to fifty two weeks.

�Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Sleepy Hollow
Accepting Resignation of
Heavy Motor Equipment Operator "HMEO"
Whereas, Michael Smutek, by the attached letter dated April 16, 2015 and effective
June 28, 2015, submitted his retirement notice letter from the Sleepy Hollow Public
Works Department.
Whereas, said retirement notice letter must be formally accepted by the Village of
Sleepy Hollow Board of Trustees, and
Whereas, the Village, by resolution number 07/138/03 dated July 15, 2003, adopted a
policy for employee termination and rehire, and
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved, that the Village accepts the retirement notice letter
from Michael Smutek by the attached letter dated April 16, 2015 and effective June 28,
2015, finds that the termination/rehire policy of July 15, 2003 applies, and
Be it Resolved, that a copy of the policy is forwarded to and a copy be placed in his
personnel record with proof of service, and
Be It Further Resolved that Mr. Smutek has been employed by the Village of Sleepy
Hollow Public Works Department since 1978 and the Board of Trustees wishes him all
the best in his future endeavors.

Whereas, Union contract requires that the Village post this position in English and
Spanish for ten days in a location accessible to all Department of Public Works
employees and,
Whereas, any Department of Public Works employee who is interested in applying for
said position, shall indicate such interest in writing to the General Foreman within the
posting period,
Now, Therefore, Be It resolved that the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Sleepy Hollow approve the posting of the position for Motor Equipment
Operator (MEO) for ten consecutive days effective June 29, 2015.

Sleepy Hollow Fire Department.
Whereas, said resignation letter must be formally accepted by the Village of Sleepy
Hollow Board of Trustees.
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved, that the Village accepts the resignation of
Patrick Haggerty by the attached letter dated April 29, 2015 and effective April 30, 2015.
