PRESENT: James Nazemetz, Chairman Sean McCarthy Marion Reilly Elvira Aloia Barbara Fina Louis Falasca ALSO PRESENT: ABSENT: James T. Margotta, Building INspector Janet Gandolfo, Attorney Robert Barstow Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. 1. OLD DUTCH CHURCH, North Broadway-Sign-Continued. Chairman Nazemetz stated there were two outstanding items regarding the sign on the property of the Old Dutch Church. He stated that the sign has been installed and the Church has complied with the Board's requests. Mr. Margotta stated that a letter had been received from the Attorney for the Church stating that the requests of the Board had been complied with, and the matter be removed from the agenda. Mr. Falasca stated he had inspected the sign and felt that it was attractive and complied with the Board's requests. Ms. Aloia stated that the letters on the sign were white and also agreed that the sign was attractive. Discussion followed regarding colors of signs to be erected in the future and colors of awnings to be erected in the future. Ms. Fina stated she would like the code rewritten and brought up to today's standards. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. Falasca that the sign as erected by the Old Dutch Church be approved. Carried. 2. Ron Turnquist, Architect-Typical signs for various businesses on Beekman Avenue. Chairman Nazemetz stated that Mr. Turnquist would not appear at this meeting as the Mayor was calling a Special Meeting for September 27th to discuss the matter of grant monies for signs and awnings. Discussion followed regarding the Special Meeting, Grant Money, and Directory to be installed on the Van Tassel Apartments. �t -2MlftUTES Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Mrs. Reilly that the minutes of the meeting held on July 26th, 1995 be approved as submitted. Carried. Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Ms. Aloia that the minutes of the meeting held on August 23rd, 1995 be approved as submitted. Carried. Chairman Nazemetz abstained. There being no further business to come before the meeting Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
