Present: James Nazemetz, Chairman Sean McCarthy Louis Falasca Elvira Aloia Marion Reilly Robert Barstow Also Present: Absent: Janet Gandolfo, Attorney James Margotta, Building Inspector Barbara Fina Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM. Vincent Cabrera,296 N. Washington St. N. Tarrvtown, NYAlterations Ron Turnquist, Architect, presented drawings of the proposed alterations. He commented that this is presently a one-family stucco building which the Zoning Board has granted the owner a variance to convert to a two-family dwelling. He showed photos of dwelling as it exists now and plans of the proposed two-family dwelling. Lou Falasca moved, second by Marion Reilly to open the public hearing, carried. Discussion ensued on the use of the existing two columns along with two new ones. The consensus of the Board was that the existing columns should not be used, the columns should all match. Lou Falasca moved, second by Sean McCarthy to approve the plans as submitted with the exception of the two columns in front of the house; columns do not match and should be changed to match. The south side of the building should have a continuous frieze board from gable to gable from the south side of the second floor, motion carried unanimously. Ron Turnquist, Architect- Typical signs for various businesses on Beekman Avenue An informal discussion was held to discuss the design proposed for the signs for the Beekman Avenue business district. There have been some complaints that the signs on the awnings of the businesses cannot be seen when coming up or down the avenue, therefore a suggestion had been made to have a standard sign for all store owners which would state the type of business, not the name. The ARB must approve the type of sign first, then the store owners would come before the Board. The ARB would control the location of the signs and the concept. Discussion ensued on the color, size, type of material and whether the sign would contain one or two lines if needed. 1 �Ron Turnquist commented that the signs would be white fiberglass with black letters and 24"X16" in size. He will bring an actual sign before the Board to review. Chairman Nazemetz called a five minute recess. Hugh Casey. 48 Beekman Avenue, N. Tarrytown. NY-Remove existing storefront and construct new front with awning, lighting, etc. Lou Falasca moved, second by Sean McCarthy to open the public hearing. Ron Turnquist presented drawings of the proposed new storefront. Discussion ensued on the type of sign, lettering and colors to be used. Lou Falasca moved/ second by Sean McCarthy to close the public hearing, motion carried. Jim Nazemetz moved to approve the application as submitted, second by Sean McCarthy with the following exceptions; delete the standard business sign on both ends, and the sign type style will be a Times Roman Font 4*' high for lettering, motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, Jim Nazemetz moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Lou Falasca and motion carried.
