REGULAR MEETING

NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK
MAY 22nd, 1996

A regular meeting of the North Tarrytown Architectural Review
Board was held on May 22nd, 1996 at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Hall, 28
Beekman Avenue, North Tarrytown, New York.
PRESENT:

James Nazemetz, Chairman
Sean McCarthy
Rosalia Piomelli
Elvira Aloia
Louis Falasca
Robert Barstow

ABSENT:

Barbara Fina
James T. Margotta, Building Inspector

ALSO PRESENT:

Janet Gandolfo, Attorney

Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M.
Chairman Nazemetz stated that the minutes of the April meeting
were not received by the members of the Board and they will be approved
at the next meeting}.
1.

Arlindo Ruivo, North Washington Street-3 Family Residence.

Mr. Sam Vieira, Architect submitted plans for the building
and stated they were the same plans approved by the Board in September,
1993. Mr. Vieira stated Mr. Ruivo had problems with the basement of
the adjoining house and was unable to start construction and the approval
time had lapsed.
Mr. Vieira stated that he had submitted the Affidavit of
Service to the Building Inspector.
Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Mr. Falasca that the meeting
be opened for public comments. Carried.
There being no public comments, Mr. Falasca moved, seconded
by Mr. McCarthy to close the public meeting. Carried.
Mr. Vieira stated that all the comments that had been made
by the Board had been incorporated in the new plans.
Discussion followed and Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Ms. Aloia
that the plans be approved as submitted as this is a resubmission of
plans that were previously approved in Spetember, 1993. Carried.
2.

Phelps Plaza, North Broadway-Continued.

Mr. Contadino, Architect for the project submitted drawing*
with the changes requested by the Board, and stated that the lights and
signs would be verde green to match the trim and doors.

Attorney Gandolfo stated that the Village will be Installing
new lighting on Broadway near the project and it was suggested that the
Architect speak to the Administrator and the Village Engineer in order
to coordinate the type and size of lights to be installed.
Discussion followed regarding the need for lights, the "round"
lamps to be installed on the building, sign and size of letters on the
sign.
Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Mr. Falasca that the site poles
match the light poles to be installed by the Village on Broadway, that each
tenant be notified that they must appear before the Board for approval of
their individual signs, that the directory sign letters be no more than
6 inches and the sign to be verde green to match the green on the roof,
and the plans be approved as submitted. Carried.
Chairman Nazemetz stated that the next meeting of the Board will
be held on June 26th, 1996.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr.
Falasca moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the same be duly adjourned.
Carried.
