Chapter 370, Article III, of the Code of the Village Sleepy Hollow entitled "Taxation" and "Tax Abatement for Rent-Controlled Properties Occupied by Senior Citizens" is amended at Section 370-18.A to read as follows: § 370-18. Income limits; procedure for determination. • * • A. No tax abatement shall be granted if the combined income of all members of the household for the income tax year immediately preceding the date of making application exceeds $40,000, provided that when the head of the household retires before the commencement of such year and the date of filing the application, the income for such year may be adjusted by excluding salary or earnings and projecting his retirement income over the entire period of such year. Section 2. The invalidity of any word, section, clause, paragraph sentence, part, or provision of this local law shall not affect the validity of any part of this local law which can be given effect without such invalid part or parts. Section 3.
