P.M. L. Novick-L. Cole - )(•> Fremont Road-Addition. Mr. Eckhardt, Architect for the project presented plans and pictures for the addition. Mr. Eckhardt stated that the residence was behind the PoAhodv property and was to he a two storv addition and outlined tvpe of construction, colors of siding, tvpe of roof and windows. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded hv Mr. McCarthy that the meeting he opened for public comments. Carried. Mr. Nazemetz moved, spconded by Mr. McCarthy to close the meeting for public comments. Carried. Discussion followed regarding the various items presented bv Mr. Eckhardt. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded bv Mr. McCarthy that the plans be approved as submitted. Carried. 2. Antonio Rocha, 7 Katrina Avenue-Addition. Sam Vieira, Architect presented plans and pictures for the renovation and addition at 7 Katrina Avenue. Mr. Vieira stated that the residence would become a two family residence with an apartment created for the owner's daughter. He stated that vinyl siding would be replaced and the new chimnev to be extended to conform to code and an existing window would be removed. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Ms. Piomelli that the meeting be opened for public comments. Carried. Ms. Piomelli moved, seconded by Ms. Aloia to close the meeting lor public comments. Carried. 3_^ Robert & Maureen Whalen, 20 Amos Street-Continuation. Mr. Barstow excused himsoir from participating .is bo is tbe Architect for the project . Mr. Barstow presented plans for .1 modular structure which had previously been submitted Inst November. He stated thnt changes have been made regarding site placement, windows and several items that the Board had requested. Mr. Barstow stated that tbe new plans show elevations, an added canopy with columns, stone stops, wood railing, vinyl shutters to give more detail to the structure. Mr. Bat stow stated that no variances would be required, the basement would have several windows, garage doors would have windows, He stated that a retaining wall approximate!v four feet high would be built at the end of tbe drivewav. Mr. Margotta stated that tbe driveway has an easement through it .and he felt that the drivewav was too steep and that barriers would have to be installed at the end of tbe drivewav. He also felt that the village might someday have to tear up the driveway because of the easement. Mr. Margotta stated that It would be difficult to go into the garage without making several maneuvers. Mr. Nazemotz moved, seconded bv Mr. McCarthy that the meeting be opened for public comments. Carried. Mr. Nazomotz moved, seconded hv Mr. MeCarthv to close the meeting for public comments. Carried. Discussion followed regarding lighting on the side door, the creation of a "berm" and the level of the driveway, the placement of windows on the south side of the bouse, type of windows, height of garage. Mr. Nazomot 7, moved, seconded bv Mr. McCarthy to accept the plans as submitted with the proviso that the casement window on the south elevation may be changed for a double bung window. Carried. U. Wayne Jeffers, A10 No. Broadway-Sign. Mr. Margotta reported he had sent letters to Mr. .Jeffers regarding signs in the windows, enclosing a copy of the sign ordinance. He stated he has had no response from Mr. Jeffers. Discussion followed regarding diesel fuel tanks inside building, sale of flowers, ,-tnd the operat Ion of n grocery store on the premises. Mr. Margotta was directed to send a letter to Mr. Jeffers ordering Mr. loiters to re< tiIv the situation within thirty days. �-'1NEW BUSINESS Mr. Margotta stated the village has an ongoing grant program regarding the i nsta I 1 at Ion of canopies. Discussion followed regarding various signs throughout the village, and the adoption of a color coclo ordinance within the village. MINUTES Mr. Nazomet 7. moved, seconded by Ms. Piomelli that the minutes of the meeting held on March 26th, 1997 he approved with minor changes. Carried. OLD BUSINESS Discussion followed regarding the RodrigneR building on Broadway which had been fire damaged. Ms. Piomelli stated she felt the height of the new building was above the maximum height and will be higher than the plans approved by the Board. Mr. Barstow stated that increasing the square footage. the full second floor frame would be Mr. Margotta stated that the building was designed for future use of the second floor. Discussion followed regarding the plans that were submitted and approved hv the Board nw October 11th, 1996. There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded bv Mr. Nazometz that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
