Hollow Fire Department.

�Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow
Authorizing Submission of Grant Application for
Sleepy Hollow Lit Fest
WHEREAS, tlie Village seeks to celebrate the 2019 bicentennial of The Sketch Book of
Geoffrey Cravon. Washington Irving's collection of short stories in which "The Legend of
Sleepy Hollow" and "Rip van Winkle" were first published; and
WHEREAS, an increase in tourism would have a positive economic impact on the region;
and
WHEREAS, the project will reinforce tourism marketing for Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown,
increase the breadth of the tourist experience and extend the tourist season; and
WHEREAS, i^arket New York, offered by Empire State Development, has been identified
as a funding source appropriate for Sleepy Hollow Lit Fest. The grant program requires a
cash match of 25% of total project cost; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Sleepy Hollow and its partners conducted successful marketing
campaigns in 2013 and 2015 with Market New York grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Administrator of the Village of Sleepy
Hollow, is hereby authorized to file an application in the 2018 Consolidated Funding
Application with the Village of Sleepy Hollow as applicant for funds from Empire State
Development in accordance with the provisions of Market New York and, upon approval of
said request, to enter into and execute a grant agreement with the State for such financial
assistance for Sleepy Hollow Lit Fest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, upon approval of the grant request, the Village of
Sleepy Hollow commits $12,500 in matching funds to the project.

�Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow
Authorizing Submission of a Water Quality Improvement Project Program
Application for Fremont Pond Water Quality Improvement Project
WHEREAS, the Village of Sleepy Hollow desires to improve water quality in Fremont Pond
through the incorporation of green stormwater infrastructure, including bioswales, riparian
buffers and a constructed wetland; and
WHEREAS, project cost estimates are being prepared and will not exceed $400,000; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Water
Quality Improvement Project Program has been identified as a funding source appropriate
for the project. This program requires a 25% match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Sleepy Hollow does hereby authorize the Village Administrator to submit an application for
grant funding under the Water Quality Improvement Project Program in an amount not to
exceed $300,000 and, upon approval of said request, to enter into and execute a grant
agreement with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for such
financial assistance for Fremont Pond.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of Sleepy Hollow authorizes a match of
25% of the total project cost up to $100,000 upon award of the grant request.

Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow
Hiring Seasonal Recreation Staff for the Recreation Department
WHEREAS, in order to maintain a successful teen travel camp and the safety of
campers this summer, it Is necessary to fill several seasonal parks positions as quickly
as possible; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Recreation, Matt Arone, properly advertised this
position and has conducted several interviews, as mandated by NYS and deems this
applicant qualified, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arone has recommended that this candidate be hired on a seasonal
basis, effective July 16,2018 up until August 3, 2018, as sufficiently appropriated in the
2018/2019 summer camp budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Sleepy Hollow hereby approve Mr. Arone's recommendation of Edward Cho,
of Scarsdale, NY to be hired effective July 16, 2018 at an hourly rate of $13.00, and be
under the direct supervision of Mr. Arone, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED background checks, as mandated by NYS, for all
applicants have been completed and are satisfactory.

�Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow
Authorizing Agreement Extension for 2017/2018
''Indexed Lump Sum Municipal Snow and Ice Agreement"
WHEREAS, the Village of Sleepy Hollow has provided snow and Ice control services on
a continuous basis since 1997 for 9.1 lane miles of roadway located in the Village of
Sleepy Hollow and owned by the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Sleepy Hollow and the State of New York have now reached
an equitable lump sum payment of 9.10 lane /miles for a total of $14,814.80
to the Village for said services for the snow season of 2017/2018 and more fully
described in the attached Agreement to Extend Indexed Lump Sum Municipal Snow and
Ice Agreement" (herein "Agreement'ONOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Board herein authorizes the
Mayor to execute the attached Agreement and to take other such steps as are
necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
