Present: Mayor Kenneth G. Wray Deputy Mayor Glenn Rosenbloom John Leavy Sam Gonzalez Rachelle Gebler Denise Scaglione Sandra Spiro Trustees Also Present: Anthony Giaccio, Village Administrator Anthony Bueti, Police Chief Matt Arone, Recreation Superintendent Sean McCarthy, Village Architect Mike Tavano, Fire Chief TRAFFIC ENGINEER PRESENTATION - Brian Dempsey of Provident Engineering addressed the Board. Provident Engineering was retained to review traffic mitigation plans submitted by Edge on Hudson. The plans are a requirement of the Edge on Hudson special permit and include the installation of left hand traffic lanes at Beekman Avenue at Pocantico Street and Route 9 at Beekman Avenue. Mr. Dempsey summarized the proposal. At each location, 8 parking spaces would need to be eliminated to accommodate a left turn lane. Mr. Dempsey made the recommendation to wait and see what impact the development has on traffic before significant changes are made. Striping is an option in the interim. Discussion ensued. CAPITAL BUDGET PRESENTATION (RECREATION) - Recreation Superintendent, Matt Arone submitted the Recreation Department's capital budget requests to the Board (attached). Requested items include a new playground at Douglas Park, surfacing for the basketball courts, a heating system for the platform tennis courts and picnic tables. The Board had several questions for Mr. Arone. A decision on all the capital projects will be made over the next two months. CAPITAL BUDGET PRESENTATION (POLICE) - Police Chief, Anthony Bueti submitted the Police Department's capital budget requests to the Board (attached). Requested items include upgrades to the computer system, vehicles, security cameras and building improvements. The Board had several questions for Chief Bueti. A decision on all the capital projects will be made over the next two months. �CLERK/TREASURER TRAINING - The Board reviewed a request from the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and Treasurer to attend the NYCOM training school, which will be held in Lake Placid from September 24 to September 28. The Board was in favor of approving this request. Mayor Wray requested that this hem be on the next Board meeting agenda. EXECUTIVE SESSION On a motion made by Trustee Scaglione, seconded by Deputy Mayor Rosenbloom and carried unanimously, the Board moved into executive session. On a motion made by Trustee Scaglione, seconded by Trustee Spiro and carried unanimously the Board moved out of executive session. At 8:20 the work session was adjourned.
