                  <text>Minutes of the Board of Trustees
Village of Sleepy Hollow
A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow was held on Tuesday
August 6, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Village Hall, 28 Beekman Ave., Sleepy Hollow, New York.
Present:

Deputy Mayor Glenn Rosenbloom
John Leavy
Denise Scaglione
Sam Gonzalez
Sandra Spiro

Also Present:

Anthony Giaccio, Village Administrator
Anthony Bueti, Police Chief

EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 6:30pm, on a motion made by Trustee Gonzalez and seconded by Trustee Leavy, the Board
moved to executive session to discuss personnel matters.
On a motion made by Trustee Scaglione and seconded by Trustee Gonzalez and carried
unanimously the Board moved out of executive session.
Mayor Wray called the work session to order at 7:15pm.
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND LWRP - Mayor Wray gave an update on the comprehensive
plan and local waterfront revitalization program. The public hearing has been extended until
September 3,2019 for written comments only. A redlined version of the draft with proposed
changes will be distributed to the Board and made public.
AWARD CURBING AND SIDEWALK BID - The Board tabled this item until they could
speak with the Department of Public Works Superintendent.
AUTHORIZE CANINE UNIT GRANT APPLICATION - Police Chief, Bueti joined the
discussion regarding the canine unit. Chief Bueti said that there was a grant opportunity that
would help reestablish a canine unit in the police department. Several years ago there were two
canine units, but they were discontinued for budgetary reasons. The discussion revolved mostly
about what the cost would be to have a canine unit on an annual basis. The Board also asked
about what the benefits are to having a canine unit. Chief Bueti said that its good for public
relations, tracking and evidence gathering. He feels it would be a great asset to the Village as it
was in the past. Discussion ensued.

�AUTHORIZE NYCOM TRAINING CONFERENCE - The Board reviewed a request to
authorize certain Village employees to attend a training conference. A draft resolution related to
this request was provided to the Board. The training conference is being offered by NYCOM
and will be for the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and Treasurer. The Mayor said that in the past, the
Village Board has been supportive of individuals that seek to improve their work performance
through training. Mayor Wray also indicated that he would like to attend a training workshop on
early October. The Board had no objection to these requests. Mayor Wray asked that this item
be on the next Board meeting agenda.
SET AUGUST MEETING SCHEDULE - The Board discussed the August meeting schedule.
It was decided that there will be no meetings on August 20,2019 and August 27, 2019
