sLEEPY HOLLOW, NEW YORK
MARCH 24th, 19S9

A regular meeting of the Sleepy Hollow Architectural Review
Board was held on Wednesday, March 24th, 1999 at a:00 P.M. in the Village
Hall, 28 Beekman Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, New York.
PRESENT:

James Nazemetz, Chairman
Sean McCarthy
Robert Barstow
Barbara Fina
Elvira Aloia
Rosaria Piomelli
Louis Falasca

ABSENT:

Janet Gandolfo, Attorney
James Margotta, Building Inspector

Chairman Nazemetz called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M.
and informed the Board that Mr. Margotta would not be attending the meeting
as he was ill.
1.

BICMBO CORP., 145 Cortlandt Street-Repairs - stucco finish.
Mr. Miguel Jimenez presented affidavit of mailings to Clerk.

Mr. Jimenez outlined the proposed project stating it was his
intention to restore the sides of the building with stucco and, paint all
doors and to restore the front brick where the mortar is loose.
Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to open the meeting
for public comments. Carried.
There being no public comments Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Ms.
Aloia to close the meeting for public conments. Carried.
Discussion followed regarding color of stucco, condition of brick
on sides of building, rear porches and doorways.
Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Ms. Piomelli to approve the request
as submitted with rear and sides of building to be re-stuccoed and front
of building to be repointed and to remain as is. Carried.
2.

Mr. &amp; Mrs. Berkeley Rice, 265 Hunter Avenue-Dormer Renovation.

Mr. Kennedy, Architect presented photos of house and outlined
proposed extension of roof and dormer, and changes made to plans since
previous submission.
Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to open the meeting for
public carments. Carried.
There being no public comments, Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Ms.
Fina to close the meeting for public comments. Carried.

�-2Discussion followed regarding type of dormer, gable end of roof,
height of new construction, type of shingles and need for new construction.
Ms.Fina moved, seconded by JVLr.Nazemetz to approve the shed dormer
with new gabie end on the lert side of'house, as surmitted. Carried.

3.

Patty Keneally, 551 Riverside Drive - Chimney.
Kevin McKenna, Architect presented affidavit of mailings to Clerk.

Mr. McKenna presented plans for the erection of a new chimney. He
stated that the chimney would be made of stone and would match the rest of
the house, and would be approximately four and a half feet in width.
Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to open the meeting for
public comments. Carried.
There being no public comments, Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by
Ms. Aioia to close the meeting for public comments, carried.
Discussion followed regarding type of stone to be used and size of
stone to be used and color of stone.
Ms. Piomelli moved, seconded Dy Mr. McCarthy that the plans be
approved as submitted. Carried.
4.

lluminada Toledo, 16u Cortlandt Street-Sign.
Applicant left and asked to be rescheduled at the next meeting.

5.

B a r r i e r O i l , No. Broadway-Continued.

Architect stated information had not been received from Citgo and
asked that his submission be rescheduled at the next meeting.
6.

John Volpacchio, 148 Beekman Avenue-Facade.
Mr. Volpacchio did not appear.

7.

DeFalco, Sleepy Hollow Road-Erection of wall and fence.

Architect stated he had submitted plans several weeks ago and
would like the Board to consider Mr. DeFalco's application tor erection of
a wall and fence at the rear of the property.
Mr. Nazemetz stated that the Board had not received any information
from the Building INspector regarding the wall and fence and Mr. DeFalco
was directed to contact the Building inspector for a "Check List" and to
submit a "Site Plan" at the next meeting to be held on April 28th, 1999.
Mr. DeFalco stated he could not start construction of the house
until the rear wall was erected and he would like to get started as soon as
possible.

Mr. Falasca moved, seconded by Ms. Fina to postpone approval of
minutes of meetings held in January and February in order for the entire
Board to review them. Carried.

Discussion followed regarding events which took place at the January
and February meetings.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Nazemetz
moved, seconded by Mr. Falasca that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
