Present: Mayor Kenneth G. Wray Deputy Mayor Denise Scaglione Thomas Andruss Rachelle Gebler Sam Gonzalez Jared Rodriquez Sandra Spiro, Trustees Absent: Sandra Spiro Also Present: Anthony P. Giaccio, Village Administrator Paula A. McCarthy Tompkins, Village Clerk Anthony Bueti, Police Chief Clinton Smith, Village Counsel At 7:00 p.m. Mayor Wray called the meeting to order with a pledge to the flag and a moment of silence for resident Robert Sanders, 93 years old, Kendal Way. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Approval of Warrants: On a motion made by Trustee Gebler, seconded by Trustee Andruss the warrant was approved and Treasurer DiGiacomo was authorized to pay for bills in the amount of $522,431.11. Approval of Minutes: On a motion by Trustee Rodriguez, seconded by Deputy Mayor Scaglione the minutes of April 27, 2021 meeting were approved. Motion carried. Mayor's Announcements: Mayor Wray stated that it is good to be back at Village Hall for meetings. Mayor Wray stated that Covid-19 cases are significantly down in the Village, encouraged everyone to be vaccinated, and continue to be careful. Deputy Mayor Scaglione announced that all events are back post Covidl9 restrictions, including Fourth of July fireworks, Oktoberfest, Street fair, International Film Festival, Haunted Hayride and summer concerts at Horans' Park. �Department Head Reports: Administrator Giaccio presented the Annual Storm Water Management Report. (Attached) Mayor Wray reminded the public about the hydrant flushing schedules for next week. Mayor Wray also reminded the public that gas-powered leaf blowers are prohibited this time of the year until September 30 and this ordinance will be enforced. Village Offices will be closed on May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. There will be a Memorial ceremony at Patriots Park at 10:00am and everyone is welcome to attend. The Wishing Wall photo contest will close for submissions on June 1st, and everyone is welcome to participate. Public Comments: Mayor Wray opened the meeting to the public for comments and invoked the 3-minute rule. There were no comments at this time. Communications: Administrator Giaccio stated that inquiries regarding the installation of a dog run at Douglas and Barnhart Parks were received. �Mayor Wray stated that he received communication from former Trustee Pat Munroe of New Broadway regarding the intersection of Rt 9 and New Broadway. Mayor Wray responded to Mr. Munroe's letter. Village Clerk McCarthy Tompkins stated that communication was received from a resident of Horseman Blvs. regarding the use of electric grills on balconies. Public Comments: Mayor Wray opened the meeting to the public and invoked the 3-minute rule. There were no comments at this time. At 7:40 pm on motion by Trustee Spiro, seconded by Trustee Gebler the Board moved to go into executive session. At 8:20pm on motion by Trustee Spiro, seconded by Trustee Andruss the Board moved to exit executive session.
