Local Law No. 4 of 2021
A LOCAL LAW AMENDING CHAPTER 400
OF THE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF SLEEPY HOLLOW
ENTITLED "VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC"
CONCERNING INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN ON BEEKMAN AVENUE AT THE
INTERSECTION WITH CORTLANDT STREET
BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow, New
York, as follows:
Section 1. Section 400-5 of the Code of the Village Sleepy Hollow entitled "Stop and
yield intersection" is hereby amended by adding in alphabetical order to Subsection A
thereof entitled "Stop intersection designated/' the following:
Stop sign on

Direction of Travel

At intersection of

Beekman Avenue

Easterly

Cortlandt Street

Section 2. The invalidity of any word, section, clause, paragraph sentence, part, or
provision of this local law shall not affect the validity of any part of this local law which
can be given effect without such invalid part or parts.
Section 3. This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing in the Office of
the Secretary of State

Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow
Confirming Mayor's Appointment
Whereas, maintaining an adequate staffing level is essential to the efficient operation of
the Village's Water Department; and
Whereas, Superintendent of Public Works, Kevin Smith and the Water Department
Foreman, Joe DeFeo canvassed candidates and conducted numerous interviews for the
position of Water Maintenance Worker Grade II, and
Whereas, Mark Unden, scored 100 in the Water Maintenance Worker Grade II exam
and is reachable in the Civil Service eligible list #66-831, and
Whereas, Superintendent Smith and Foreman DeFeo recommend that Mark Unden be
appointed to fill this full-time position.
Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the Board of Trustees hereby confirm the
Mayors' appointment of Mark Unden of Mt. Kisco, NY, to the full-time position of
Water Maintenance Worker Grade II, at an annual salary of $85,640.94, and
Be It Further Resolved that there will be a 30 month period in which Mr. Unden
will only receive 90% of his annual salary per the collective bargaining agreement
Article IV, Section 2, and all other terms and conditions of the collective bargaining
agreement between the Village of Sleepy Hollow and the Local 456 International
Brotherhood of Teamsters shall apply, and said appointment will become effective
October 12, 2021 and subject to the approval of the Westchester County Department
of Civil Service Rules and a probationary period of 12 to 52 weeks.
