PRESENT: James Nazemetz, Chairman Elvira Aloia Sean McCarthy Thomas Capossela Robert Barstow (arrived at 8:30 P.M.) ABSENT: Barbara Fina Louis Falasca A&SO PRESENT: James Margotta, Building INspector Ed Larimers, Attorney After discussion, Mr. Nazemetz stated that the next meeting of the Board would be held on May 23rd, 2001. 1. LATIN COURIER EXPRESS, 110 BEEKMAN AVENUE- SIGNS-CONTINUED. Applicant did not appear. 2. LEARNED HAND, 121 FARRINGTON AVENUE-REPAIR & RENOVATION & RETAINING WALL. Mr. Hand presented affidavit of proof of mailings to the Building Inspector. Mr. Hand outlined the project and presented pictures to the Board. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Ms. Aloia to open the meeting for public comments. Carried. There being no public conments, Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to close the meeting for public comments. Carried. Discussion followed regarding the repairs and renovations and the height and type of wall to be constructed. Mr. Capossela moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the application be approved as submitted. Carried. 3. CHRIS GHARI, 45 AMOS STREET - REPAIR AND RENOVATION. Mr. Ghari presented affidavit of proof of mailings to the Building Inspector. Mr. Ghari presented plans and pictures of the house and outlined the project. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. Capossela to open the meeting for public corrments. Carried. There being no comments Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to close the meeting for public corrments. Carried. �-2Discussion followed regarding the installation of a stockade fence approximately five feet in height to be installed on the south side of the property. Mr. James Paolontonio stated he was a neighbor and did not object to the five foot high fence and spoke of the monstrous high wall at the rear of the property. Ms Aloia stated that sljGbbery could be planted to held hide the wall and fence. Mr. Margotta stated if Mr. Ghari wanted a fence higher that five feet he would have to request a variance from the Zoning Board. Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Mr. Capossela that the application for a five foot high, natural colored stockade fence be granted as requested. Carried. 4. ANDREW WARD^ESLIE HORNE, 250 KELBOURNE AVENUE - ADDITION. Mr. Ward presented affidavit of proof of mailings to the Building Inspector. Mr. Ward presented plans and drawings along with pictures for the Board to review. Mr. Ward stated that the addition would be a two story addition to the southeast corner of the house, and would consist of a family room, a bathroom, a mud room with an entrance. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy to open the meeting for public comments. Carried. Mr. Rosen, 240 Kelbourne Avenue stated he spoke to the applicant regarding the entrance to the mud room which would be right next to his bedroom window. He felt that should be moved elsewhere in the addition. Discussion followed regarding the amount of property between each house and the distance the new addition would be from the side yard property line. Mr. Ward agreed to make suggested changes. Mr. Nazemetz moved, seconded by Mr. McCarthy that the matter be continued to the next meeting and that Mr. Ward sufcmit complete drawings. Discussion followed regarding the submission of all plans to the Waterfront Advisory Committee. There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. McCarthy moved, seconded by Ms. Aloia that the same be duly adjourned. Carried.
