The Planning Board of the Village of North Tarrytown met on
Thursday, April 24, 1978 at 8: P.M. in the Municipal Building, 28
Beekman Avenue, North Tarrytown, N.Y.
Present:

Demetrious Caraley, Chairman
Francis Caro
Anthony Gasparovic
Roman Windas
Janet Gandolfo

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Mr. Caraley stated to the Board that after having served as Chairman
for one year he would tender his resignation as Chairman. He explained
to the Board that he had enjoyed serving as Chairman but personal and
business obligations would prevent him from serving for another year.
Discussion followed regarding the election of a new Chairman. Mr.
Gasparovic stated that he had been Chairman for many years and that he
felt that someone else should be given the opportunity. Mr. Windas said
that time would not permit him to be Chairman. Frank Caro said that
perhaps in 1979 he would accept the Chairmanship but other obligations
prevented him from accepting it this year. Janet Gandolfo said that she
would be willing to accept the position. There being no further discussion
Janet Gandolfo was elected Chairperson of the Planning Board for the year
11978-1979.
Mr. Caraley made some suggestions to the Board as to what projects
it should undertake in the following year. One suggestion was for the
Board to look into the zoning around the Philipse Manor Railroad Station
and, if appropriate, make a recommendation to the Village Board of
Trustees as to what should be planned for that area. Janet Gandolfo
volunteered to look into what the zoning regulations are for that part of
the Village and report to the Board.
Mr. Gasparovic informed the Board that he would have an application
for subdivision for property owned by him at Dell Street. He told the
Board he would submit his application before the next meeting.
Miss Gandolfo stated that the next meeting of the Planning Board would
be held in August. The Board agreed that Thursday nights was the most
convenient night for all the members.
Adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,

J
