Gaeparovic, Chairman Planning Board Village of North Tarrytown 28 Beekman Avenue, No. Tarrytown, New York Dear Mr, Gasnarovic: \ Tn tny meeting with the Planning Board on January 19, 1967, we discussed the possibility of tying together the expansion of Anchor Motor freight parking lot through a land fill program on the Hudson and the relocation; of the new North/South State Highway. It was suggested at that time, that I acquire additional information regarding this new road and hoW it would relate to this proposed development. I have discussed this with the Westchester County Planning Department and subsequently with the New York State Department of Public Work*. Tt would appear to me that ;the new North/South road is being planned to run paralell and contiguous to the railroad and will have a direct access to the New York State ^Thruway. This should provide the opportunity to increase the vehicle capacity at Ceneral Motors Plant without increasing the traffic problem in the Village of North Tarrytown. Tn fact this road will completely eliminate this problem. I have also discussed this with the Hudson River Valley Commission and have been advised if the Villages of Tarrytown and North Tarrvtown would jointly request a study for the proper development and redevelopment of the Hudson River shoreline in their area, they would be happv to provide this service to municipalities. As I understand It, the Hudson Fiver Valeey Commission is staffed to help communities along the Hudson River to prepare immediate and long range planning for residential and commercial development. I believe that they could provide you with a wonderful service in this direction. Could you keep me Informed as to what steps we should take to help Implement our proposal. If possible, T would appreciate the opportunity to again appear before the Board to discuss this further.
