To define areas for redevelopment: Distribution of charts and table for study related to economic study. Mr. Oxman presented charts of five zone areas in North Tarrytown; Planning areas where each may be studied and developed. Mr. Gasparovic presented his plan-Areas 1-2-3-4 and his plan of development as stated numerically: Area I 2 3.4 - South of Beekman and west of Valley St. North of Beekman and west of Pocantico St. East of Pocantico and north of Beekman Ave. South of Beekman and east of Valley St. to Broadway. Mr. Edwin Clarke—would t:ork on transportation, through Route 9, first before any development of areas. Minimum width 100 ft. entering Washington St., north to south through Valley, Cortlandt and connect with Carrytown. G. Madden's plan: Area I - Cortlandt St., west to River St. and Village line. 2.- M - 2 - Middle Income 3 - M - 3 - " " Similar to Gasparovic. Bob Croke - Same as Madden's ideas. These units of study brought out discussion helpful to forming a program. Questions: What kind of a plan do we want? What is the status of Route 9 plans and surveys? Suggestion: Make our own decisions on what we want, **:. Route 9, to do for Village. G. Madden: Reviewed our work so far with contract with Federal Government, and contract with Village. Stressing time is important I �-2G. Madden discussed general areas of proposed use.. The discussion continued on "Land use of l,2,3f«+," and Urban Renewal area. Mr. Gasparovic sta ted that he would try to define a 2oning area in relation to land slope and will bring in his review at the next meeting. Assignment for all members: "Land use ideas" Low cost - housing area ^o be developed next. Mr. Oxman: Ideas for nex* meetirg. Outline general areas and type of uses to consider. Density of population in ^rea. Consider! Fixed Areas such as: Van Tassel, Margotta Courts, New Middle Income?, Salvation Army Bldg., Municipal Bldg., Churches, Schools, etc. Consider J Pocantico, Elm and Barnhart Streets development as Garden Aptshigher density. Area around 8 to 12 families t^ acre. and Howard St.-consider this area. Andrews Lane, Kendall Ave., Consider Recreation and Parkin;-;. Assuming that the Village population capacity remains at 10*000 - where placed? Consider! Area 4 - Two Manors could have 2,000 people. How? There are seventy lots in Sleepy Hollow Manor. Discuss High-rise Apts. in areas. Historical Restoration to tie into plains aidir^ in maintainin 1 character of comnunity. What kind of development west of railroad? The above were civen by Mr* Oxman to stimulate thought and guidance toward any plans we, as lumbers, mi^ht conceive as workable. Mr. Oxman also presented Student Study plans. The charts tied Village center to Restoration project - school fixed (as part of program) theater area, P.O. museum, shopping center, parking areas. Two were shown as example of student creativity with airo to stimlate our thinking.
