Minutes of Meeting
Monday, April 2 5 t h , 1955

The meeting was c a l l e d t o order a t 8:10 P.M. by Mr. Hales,
Chairman*

Mr* Capoaeela offered the following Resolution and moved
i t a adoption:
WHEREAS, on May 5th, 1953* the Planning Board considered
and approved the s i t e selected by the Worth Tarrytown Housing Authority
for Federally-aided Public Housing Project HY-26*J., consisting of Lots
14, 15, 16, 17, 16, 19, 19A, 19S, 20, 21 and 22 of Block 17, Sheet 16,
of the Worth Tarrytown Village tax maps, and
WHEREAS, at that time the Planning Board recommended t h a t
the Housing Authority consider the feasibility of acquiring additional
area t o the south of tho project s i t e on Valley Street, which area
could be used for parlcing and recreational f a c i l i t i e s , and
WHEREAS, on order of the Public Housing Administration, a l l
development of the Project S i t e was stopped in October, 1953, and
WHBRBAS, on order of the Public Housing Administration, said
development was reactivated a s of March 1st, 1955, and
WHEREAS, i t i s now the desire of the North Tarrytown Housing
Authority and the Public Housing Administration to enlarge the
o r i g i n a l s i t e by adding parcels 23, 24, 25, 25A, 26, 27 and 28 of
Block 17, Sheet 16, of the North Tarrytown Village t a x maps,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Board of
t h e Village of North Tarrytown hereby approves the s i t e originally
selected for Federally-aided Project NY-26-1 with the additional
area now planned.
Seconded by Mr. Lopano t h e motion was unanimously carried.
After considerable discussion concerning the appointment
of Village Engineer, Mr. Caponscln moved that the Planning Board

�rocommend to the Board of Trustees that a Village Engineer be immediately
appointed.

Seconded by Mr* Hales, the motion was unanimously carried*

Mr. Lopano moved that the Planning Board recommend to the
Housing Authority that it establish a residence requirement for all
otherwise eligible applicants for admission to the proposed Public
Housing Project, of at least one (1) years residence in the Village
of North Tarrytown. Seconded by Mr* Caposselo^ the motion was
unanimously carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P*M*
