Mrs. Robertine called me and stated that she could not get her neighbor to the east of her property, to sign the statement recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals, but it was agreeable with said neighbor, if they wo\iid not build their garage so that the front line of the garage would not be any further north than the rear line of his house.I told her that from ray impressions of the attitude of the members present at the November 23rd. meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals, that this arrangement would be agreeable to them.I asked her to get in touch with the Building Inspector, Mr. Fitzpatrick and tell him that I had contacted two other members of the Board, (Mr. G-rimball and Mr. Oostello), and that we sanctioned his issuing a permit under these conditions. Mr. Fitzpatrick still refused to issue the permit. Later that evening I met Mr. Fitzpatrick and Mr. Page on Beekman Ave., and we discussed the case again.Mr. Fitzpatrick then suggested that we visit this neighbor of Mr. Robertine's, who owns the property adjoining Mr. Robertine's on the east. < This we did, and after considerable discussion*the said neighbor agreed to retract his objections providing Mr. Robertine would build his garage so that the front line of his garage woulfc©3 feet to the rear of his south house line. We then met Mr. Robertine on his property and he agreed to this arrangement. Mr. Fitzpatrick then told Mr. Robertine that if he would deliver the application for a building permit to him, he would issue the permit.
