At a meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals held in the
Municipal Building on October 6, 1952, a variance was granted to
the Vernon Products Company permitting this concern to mix metallic
finishes at 42-46 River street in the Village of North Tarrytown, N. Y.
The following" board members were present;
Edward B. Cummings, Chairman
David Page
Neil Gollogly
Edward Koval

^

Mr. John lynch and Mr. Sydney Evans, residents of Hudson Street,
appeared at the meeting and protested the"granting of a variance on the
basis of fire hazard, odors, and property depreciation.
Mr. William Lombardi, President of the Vernon Products Company,
Mr. Joseph Lombardi, Attorney, Mr. James J. Lush, and Mr. George E.
Hubbard represented the applicant and answered all questions asked by
the Board, Mr. lynch and Mr. Evans.
Attached is a copy of a letter received from the Vernon Products
Company, answering questions regarding fire prevention arid methods of
fighting a fire at this location raised by Mr. Donald Randall, chief
Engineer of the North Tarrytown Fire Department,
Mr. Jack Small appeared before the board and requested permission to extend a building on Beekman Avenue adjacent to the corner
property on Washington Street and Beekman Avenue, in order to eliminate
a nuisance in the back yard.
Mr. Small was informed that, since the matter was within the
duties of the Building Inspector, the board did not have jurisdiction
in this case. He was advised to apply for a building permit and, in
the event this was denied and he felt that the denial was unfair, he
then could apply to the board for a hearing.
