Church or a place of worship*

be safe on Route ° , This l o t we proposed t o b u i l d on i s
a d i f f i c u l t one. We have the assurance from the telephone
company t h a t they w i l l move the pole l i n e now i n t e r s e c t i n g
the p r o p e r t y f r e e of charge. We f e e l t h i s b u i l d i n g w i l l
not d e t r a c t property values and w i l l enhance t h i s area as
I think t h i s l o t i s not in demand for b u i l d i n g .

Miss Masarech: We would favor t h i s l o c a t i o n because of the r e l i g i o u s
proximity to the Old Dutch Church and the P h i l i p s * Resto r a t i o n who have many v i s i t o r s awong them people who no
doubt would l i k e to v i s i t the C h r i s t i a n Endeavor Church.
"We want t o f e e l t h a t we are wanted in the community, i f
there i s any doubt please t a l i us before we t r a v e l e a r l y
next week to attend a convention. If there has to be a
public h e a r i n g , we doubt i f we w i l l accept, ae we f e e l t h i s
i s d e f i n i t e l y a place of worship. The *ain purpose i s
w o r s h i p . , C l e r i c a l paper c i r c u l a t i o n work i s secondary.
Mr. Johnson:

I have talked t o several people next to t h i s p r o p e r t y and
they offer no o b j e c t i o n s .

Mr. Johnson:

Yes, but there i s always a few people t h a t d o n ' t a g r e e , I
pointed out t h a t t h i s c e r t a i n l y could r*ot hurt Real E s t a t e .

Called Mayor Hayes and discussed the services of an Attorney
in the absence of Patrick Powers, Jr., Village Attorney, it
was agreed to contact Mr. Winfield L. Morse,

May 25, 1957

Mr. Gollogly called on Attorney W. Morse at his residence and
discussed the Christian Endeavor Union application for the
proposed building in Residence A District.

May 27, 1957

Mr. Gollogly received froia Attorney Winfield L. Morse, a
recommendation that five points be answered with a formal
application, including drawings and specifications of the
proposed building, also a record of ownership of the property.

May 27, 195?

Mr. Gollogly called Mr. Johnson and explained that further
information would be required and quoted the legal poiate in
Attorney Winfield L, Morse's letter to the Zoning Board.
After souse discussion, Mr, Johnson withdrew the application
and thanked the iwestoers of the Zoning Board for the proapt
attention they had given this application.
