August 2, 1967 U L^ Two Public Hearings were held before the Zoning Board of Appeals on August 2, 1967 on the above date. Present James Friere, Chairman David Page Dr. William Brady Pat Lupi John Gross Sant e J. Chessari, Counsel Anthony Gasparovic, Bldg. Inspector Applicants: Mr. Frank Addessi Mr. Barnett Ross, Engineer of Humble Oil 8 Refining Co. Chairman Friere called the hearings to order at 8:00 P.M. Counsel Chessari read the first notice of hearing to consider the application of Mr. Frank Addessi for a variance to permit him to construct and erect a closed, screened porch on the south side,of his property known and designated as:Section 14, Block 28, Lot 8A leaving a distance of 8.64 feet from the southerly property line of said property, instead of the required fifteen (15) feet. Mr. Addessi explained that the purpose of the porch, which will be on level of remainder of the house, is for his wife who is handicapped and must use crutches to assist her in walking, to use the porch for relaxation. Following a short discussion, Mr. Lupi moved, seconded by Mr. Gross that the variance be granted to Mr. Addessi to construct and erect a closed, screened porch on the south side of his property leaving a distance of 8.64 feet from the southerly property line of said property instead of the required fifteen (15) feet. Carried Unanimously. Counsel Chessari read the second notice of hearing to consider an application by Humble Oil S Refining Co. for a variance to permit and allow the installation of a new 6,000 gallon gasoline storage tank on property known and designated as Section 17, Block 12, Lot 1 leaving a distance of twelve (12) feet from the Broadway (Route 9) line of said property instead of the required twenty-five (25) feet and in addition, to permit and allow the installation of a new 6,000 gallon gasoline storage tank on said designated property leaving a distance of fifteen (15) feet from the Hudson Terrace line of said property, instead of the required twenty-five (25) feet. • �Mr. Barnett, Engineer of the Humble Oil 8 Refining Co., stated that according to Section 1623 of the Fire Prevention Code, no distance is required, and cited several communities where ty a distance of three feet was required from the property line. Mr. Lupi inquired as to how many tanks were on the property now and Mr. Barnett stated that there were five tanks now and none of these are being eliminated. Chief Michael Apollonio inquired as to why the additional two 6,000 gallon^storage tanks. He stated that he opposed the variance because of the bad location of the service station. Runaway trucks from Bedford Road makes it dangerous also, said the Chief. Following a discussion, Dr. Brady moved that the variance be granted, seconded by Mr. Gross. Chairman Friere polled the Board as follows: Chairman Friere Dr. Brady Pat Lupi - Yes - Yes - No John Gross - Yes David Page - No Chairman Friere declared the vote carried and a variance was granted to the Humble Oil S Refining Co. to permit and allow the installation of a new 6,000 gallon gasoline storage tank on property known and designated as Section 1?., Block 12, Lot 1 leaving a distance of twelve (12) feet from the Broadway (Route 9) line.of said property instead of the required 25 feet and in addition, to permit and allow the installation of a new 6,000 gallon gasoline storage tank on said designated property leaving a distance of 15 feet from the HudsonTerrace line of said property, instead of the required 25 feet.
