Present John Arcate, Chairman Edward Swaby Martin Ruane Frank Paolantoiiio Victor Page, Building Inspector R. Ponzini, Village Attorney Chairman Arcate called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. Linda Fukuchi read the notice of hearing to consider the request of Mr. San Juan for an appeal from a decision of the Building Inspector to construct a second floor porch at 28 Hudson Street, No. Tarrytown. Chairman Arcate.asked if there was anyone who would like to address the Board. The Building Inspector, Mr. Page explained briefly,that Mr. San Juan's application for a ^variance had been * denied solely due to the regulations in the Zoning .code. He noted:that other homes in the applicant's neighborhood have been built with porches on their second story. Chairman Arcate asked if there was anyone present at tonight's hearing who objected to said construction. Two neighbors of Mr. San Juan, Mary Kay Vincek and Rudol^Medina, stated they were in favor of such construction and supported Mr. San Juan's building said porch. Board member Frank Paolantoiiio asked the owner whether the intended second floor porch, if built, would be enclosed. The reply was in the negative. The clerk conversed with Mr. San Juan in Spanish and offered to serve as an interpreter. He indicated appreciation and satisfaction. As no one wished to contest Mr. San Juan's application for the. variance, Chairman Arcate "asked for a motion to close the'hearing and", to adjourn for the business meeting: Said motion "was made by Mr. Swaby, seconded by Mr. Paolantoriio, and carried by a unanimous vote.
