The Chair noted that a quorum was present. Carlos Siguenza is the owner and is representing this application. Carlos Siguenza submitted photos of his house. He stated that he wants to replace the siding. He stated that he wants to keep the existing fascia board and paint it. He also stated that he will keep the existing front door. Sandra Tripp asked if the applicant was going to install siding on all 4 sides of the house. Carlos Siguenza responded yes. The Acting Chair stated that some of the exterior wood is rotted. Sean McCarthy responded that the rotted wood would have to be replaced before it is covered with the siding. �It was agreed that the existing rotted wood window trim would be replaced with a 3-1/2” vinyl casing trim. The Chair opened the public hearing. Since there were no public comments, the Chair closed the public hearing. Pat Piereson made a motion to approve the application as submitted with the following conditions: 1) 4-1/2” dutch lap vinyl siding. 2) The existing trim, fascia and brackets will remain. 3) The windows and doors will have vinyl casings. 4) The foundation will be painted the same color as the siding. 5) Fire escapes will be painted white to match the trim. Ana Maria McGinnis seconded. It was approved (3-0). The Chair abstained. 2) Acacio Riberio 56 Howard Street New fence - This is a continuation from previous meetings. Acacio Riberio is the owner and is representing this application. Acacio Riberio stated that he wants to install a new fence on his property. The Chair opened the public hearing. Since there were no public comments, the Chair closed the public hearing. Pat Piereson made a motion to approve the application as submitted. Ana Maria McGinnis seconded. It was unanimous (4-0). 3) Rock of Salvation Church 131 Cortlandt Ave New sign - Donald Estan is representing this application. The Chair asked if the mailings were received. Sean McCarthy responded yes. Donald Estan stated that the church wants to install a wood carved sign. He stated that this type of sign is used in other areas of the Village. It was unanimous (4-0). 4) Ching Li Kin 24 Anderson Avenue Addition & alteration Ching Li Kim is the owner and is representing this application. The Chair asked if the mailings were received. Sean McCarthy responded yes. Ching Li Kim stated that there is an existing greenhouse that is leaking. He stated that he wants to re-do the roof and exterior on the greenhouse. He stated that the finishes would match the main house. Pat Piereson asked if there were any existing pictures. Ching Li Kim responded no. The Chair asked if the house was on the corner. Ching Li Kim responded no. Ana Maria McGinnis asked about the garage. Ching Li Kim responded that the garage is in the front of the property. Ana Maria McGinnis asked about the existing windows. Ching Li Kim responded that they are casement windows. The Chair opened the public hearing. Since there were no public comments, the Chair closed the public hearing. Ana Maria McGinnis made a motion to approve the application as submitted. Pat Piereson seconded. It was unanimous (4-0). 5) Ricardo Rodriguez 97 Cortlandt St Exterior security doors Ricardo Rodriguez is the owner and is representing this application. The Chair asked if the mailings were received. Sean McCarthy responded yes. APPROVED - Architectural Review Board Meeting, January 28, 2009 3 �Ricardo Rodriguez gave an overview of the proposed installation. He stated that one security door was installed without a permit. He stated that he wants to install 2 doors in total. Pat Piereson asked if these types of doors were installed in another area of the Village. Ricardo Rodriguez responded that there are other businesses that have this same door. Pat Piereson stated that she has never seen these doors in the Village before. Sean McCarthy responded that there are some pre-existing security doors of this type in the Village already. Ana Maria McGinnis stated that she is opposed to these types of doors. She stated that this sends the wrong message in the Village. She stated that the applicant needs to provide proof of other businesses that have a similar type of security door. Pat Piereson stated that it looks bad in the community. She stated that a security system would be a better alternative. Ricardo Rodriguez stated that the neighbors have been notified about this application. He stated that photos of the doors were mailed with the notice. The Chair opened the public hearing. Since there were no public comments, the Chair closed the public hearing. The Chair stated that the grating slats should be perforated. This was adjourned to the next meeting so the applicant can investigate some alternatives. 6) Minutes The minutes for the October and November 2008 meetings were reviewed. Ana Maria McGinnis made a motion to approve the November minutes as submitted. Pat Piereson seconded. It was unanimous (4-0). The minutes for the October meeting will be reviewed at the next meeting. 7) National RE/sources 11 River Street Proposed Riverfront Develop. There was nobody present to represent this application.
