NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK
September 12, 1983
A Special Meeting was held before the Board of Trustees of the
Village of North Tarrytown on the above date.
PRESENT

Philip E. Zegarelli, Mayor
Vincent Buonanno
William McBride
Joseph D. Lofaro
James J. Timmings
Emmanuel Lobato,
Trustees
Robert J. Ponzini, Counsel

ABSENT

Trustee

Mayor Zegarelli called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. and
announced that the only order of business would be the consideration
of a new fire apparatus for Rescue Hose Co. #1. Trustee Lofaro moved
seconded by Trustee Lobato that the apparatus proposal of Tyler Fire
Equipment for one new Pierce 1500 gallon pumper be approved at a bid
price of $162,566 less $5,000 trade in for the used Mack apparatus.
On the discussion a letter from the Fire Company (attached) recommending purchase of the Pierce apparatus was introduced. On the motion
Trustees Buonanno, McBride, Lofaro and Lobato voted yes. Trustee
Timmings and Mayor Zegarelli voted no. Motion carried.
Trustee Lofaro moved, seconded by Trustee Lobato that bid part II
for equipment to be installed on the new apparatus be awarded to AAA
Company of White Plains, N.Y. in the amount of $19,435.75. Carried
unanimously.
Trustee Lofaro moved, seconded by Trustee Lobato that bid bonds
be returned to unsuccessful bidders. Carried unanimously.
The Board was reminded that the bid had been accepted prior to
the time limit of the permissive referendum.
Motion to adjourn by Trustee Lobato seconded by Trustee
Buonanno. Carried.

Honorable Mayor and Board of Trustees:
Be it hereby resolved that at our regular monthly business meeting
held on September 6, 1983 the company voted unanimously to reaffirm
the Apparatus Committee's choice and supported the selection of a
Pierce Arrow fire apparatus.
We consider this make of apparatus to be the finest choice in meeting
the needs of our company and of the Village of North Tarrytown.
