Present: Richard Weiss, Chairman Karin Adir Ralph Gunderson Carol Manca Doug Maass Absent Terence McGlynn Also Present: Sean McCarthy (Building Inspector, Village of Sleepy Hollow) Anthony DelVecchio (Recording Secretary) Announcements: None. Agenda: 1) Anderson 2) Minutes for May 2008 3) Other 1) Anderson 275 Millard Avenue 275 Millard Avenue Retaining wall Retaining wall - Sam Vieira is the project architect and is representing this application on behalf of the owners. Sam Vieira gave an overview of the proposed project. He stated that the existing railroad tie retaining walls are deteriorated and need to be replaced. He stated that the owners also want to expand their rear yard space for their 2 children. He stated that the walls will be visible from the Hudson River and from the Metro-North train station. The Chair asked if the walls would be the same height as the existing railroad tie retaining walls. Sam Vieira responded that the height is basically the same. He stated that the number of wall systems will be reduced from three walls to two walls. The Chair asked about the landscaping plan. Sam Vieira reviewed some of the landscaping ideas. He stated that the Planning Board will have final approval of the landscaping improvements. Ralph Gunderson asked about the proposed materials. Sam Vieira responded that the proposed blocks are a tumbled stone appearance and that the blocks are different sizes and shapes. He stated that the ARB had expressed concerns about the monolithic appearance of the materials that were originally proposed. �Ralph Gunderson stated that the application is within the Committee’s jurisdiction since it is visible from the Hudson River. The Chair stated that Policy 25a is applicable to this application. The Committee unanimously found this application to be consistent with Policy 25a of the LWRP. 2) Minutes The minutes from the May 2008 meeting were reviewed. Ralph Gunderson made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted. Karin Adir seconded. It was unanimous (5-0). 3) Other Ralph Gunderson asked Doug Maass about the status of the Metro North wetlands dumping. Doug Maass responded that Metro North appears to be working within their property boundaries. Ralph Gunderson stated that the Mayor is investigating a potential member for the Committee to fill its vacancy. Doug Maass made a motion to adjourn. Ralph Gunderson seconded. It was unanimous (5-0).
