Present: Philip E. Zegarelli, Mayor Mario DiFelice, Deputy Mayor, Trustee James H. Hart, Trustee Robert J. Higle, Trustee Craig A. Laub, Trustee Donald W. Stever, Trustee Patricia Rodriguez, Trustee The Mayor called the Work Session to order and outlined the following: Mayor Zegarelli noted that Village Treasurer and Acting Administrator, Sanjay Shah, had left the employment of the Village, effective, Friday, October 29, 1999, and that the Village had settled any and all outstanding monies owed to him due to accrued sick time, vacation pay, etc., in the form of a check that was reviewed by Village Clerk Everett, Village Auditor DeMilia, and Village Counsel Murphy. The Mayor also stated that because of the departure of Mr. Shah, that prudent efforts were executed over the weekend through to this date to ensure that a smooth transition would reflect Mr. Shah's departure. That being the case, Mayor Zegarelli made a series of motions reflecting the changes: Resolution No. W-A Be it resolved that the resignation of Mr. Shah be so noted in the Board minutes and that the action of the Mayor in this matter be so recognized. Moved: Trustee Hart; Seconded: Trustee Stever; Vote: 7-0. Resolution No. W-B Be it resolved that Barbara Napoli, Village Bookkeeper, be designated the Acting Village Treasurer for the remainder of the Village year to expire Monday, April 3, 2000, and that in so doing Ms. Napoli assumes all responsibilities as designated by the Village as the Acting Treasurer in all capacities. Moved: Trustee DeFelice; Seconded: Trustee Higle; Vote: 7-0. Resolution No. W-C Be it resolved that in keeping with the change of Treasurer, that all official designations and signing authorities, whether with the various banks and/or governmental agencies, Insurance brokers and Agents be so notified of Mr. Shah's departure and the designation of Barbara Napoli as Acting Treasurer. Moved: Trustee Rodriguez; Seconded: Trustee Stever; Vote: 7-0. �Resolution No. W-D Be it resolved that Joe DeMilia, Auditor for the Village of Sleepy Hollow, together with Trustee Hart, be appointed in an advisory position to the Mayor and the Acting Treasurer during the turnover and that Mr. DeMilia's additional remuneration be an additional $700 per week, which would equate to a minimum of three hours a day for three days a week to cover various contingencies and additional work above and beyond that of his accounting contract. Moved: Trustee: Stever; Seconded: Trustee Laub; Vote: 7-0 The Mayor then reiterated the position of the Village and stated that, although Mr. Shah's departure was abrupt, the Village Board thanked him for his years of service and wished him well in his future endeavors in private industry. The Mayor then restated for the record that he would be exercising his existing executive authority as Mayor of the Village of Sleepy Hollow according to New York State Village Law to facilitate the timely transition and good order of the Village during this time.
