Present: Also Present: Absent: Frank Arvan, Chairperson Elena Malunis Louis Falasca Jim Margotta, Building Inspector John Hughes, Village Attorney Annegret Rice Robert Barstow In the matter of Fulaenoio Pena, Cortlandt fc Depevster Streets. (N. E. Corner)North Tarrvtown. New YorX Mr. Pena plans to change the sign and awning in front of his store. He submitted sample of the material used in the awning, however, the board will discuss the sign at a later date. A motion to certify the awning design was made by Elena Malunis, seconed by Louis Falasca. Motion was passed unamiously. %n the matter of Lester Harrison, U ? Be«*ma,n Avenge, yprtft Tarrvtown, New York Mr. Harrison submitted a sample of the siding to be used on his storefront. A motion to certify plans for re-siding was made by Elena Malunis, seconded by Louis Falasca. Motion was passed unamiously. In the matter of Kostas Panapakios. 251 No. Washington Street, North Tarrvtown. Mr. Panapakios plans to change the siding of his house and submitted color samples of siding. A short discussion ensued regarding a window on the third floor. After he agreed to keep the window intact, a motion to certify plans for re-siding was made by Louis Falasca, seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion was passed unamiously. In the matter of Manuel Arbelaze, 10 Lawrence Street. North Tarrvtown. Mr. Arbelaze plans to change the color of aluminum siding of his house to light blue. A motion to certify plans for re-siding was made by Frank Arvan, seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion was passed unamiously. 3 �Page c3 s In the matter of Michael Kane. 27 Clinton Street. North Tarrvtown. N. Y. Mr. Kane would like to change the siding of his apartment house and submitted a sample of same. A motion to certify plans for re-siding was made by Lou Falanca, seconded by Frank Arvan. Motion was passed unamiously. In the matter of Nikolaos Patias. rvtown. N. Y. 276 N. Broadway. North Tar- Mr. Donal Walsh represented Mr. Patias, in his request for a free standing sign for his new restaurant called the Horseman. The dimensions of the sign requested is 4 ft by 8' double faced free standing sign. Because of the location of the restuarant (corner of Broadway and Bedford Rd), the board felt it would look more like a gasoline sign rather than a restuarant sign . It was suggested by the Board that perhaps Mr. Patias could use the type of sign that is in front of the Amenta building. However, after some discussion it was decided that the sign would impede vision for drivers driving on Route 9. Mr. Walsh & Margotta will discuss the NYS DOT regulations regarding signs, and the Board decided to table request for certification of the sign until the next meeting. In the Matter of Architonics. Inc.45 Beekman Avenue. North Tarrvtown. New York An addition is planned on the above property and the architect appeared before the Board to asked for approval of concept of the design. A motion to approve the concept was made by Lou Falasca and seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion was passed unamiously. In the matter of Laurentino Rodriguez. Valley Street Project. North Tarrytown. N. Y. Mr. Ron Turnquist, Architect, appeared before the Board and gave a brief history of the project and why the project has been shut down for a period of time. He asked that the board consider certifying the plans as the design of the roof had been changed since the original plans were submitted to the building inspector. Lous Falasca moved to certify the change of roof design. Motion was seconded by Frank Arvan. Motion was passed unamiously. 4 �* Page 5 In the matter of James D'Orio. 71 Chestnut Street. North Tar- eytown, New YorK Donal Walsh, Attorney appeared before the Board on behalf of Mr. D'Orio and the Chestnut Street project. Mr. D'Orio appeared before the Board on July 28, 1989 with a design for the proposed condos he plans to build on Chestnut. At that time he was asked to consider changes in design and to bring them before the Board. The Board certified the proposed changes in design with some conditions, i. e. dumpster area in rear of property, provide screening for residents around project, eliminate fence in front of property. Lou Falsca moved to certify plans as submitted with conditions, seconded by Frank Arvan. Motion was passed unamiously. A motion to approve the minutes as sumbitted was made by Frank Arvan, seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion to adjourn was made by Frank Arvan and seconded by board.
