VILLAGE OF SLEEPY HOLLOW

A Special Session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow was held on
Tuesday. May 16,2000, at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the Village Hall, 28 Beekman
Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, New York.
Present:

Philip E. Zegarelli, Mayor
Mario DiFelice, Trustee
James H. Hart, Trustee
Robert J. Higle, Trustee
Patricia Rodriguez, Trustee
Donald W. Stever, Trustee
Richard Zieja, Trustee

The Mayor called the Special Session to order at 8:45 p.m. The purpose of the meeting
was to expedite calling for public hearings on several matters and to provide for Board
resolution of additional events.
•

A motion was made by Trustee DeFelice and seconded by Trustee Stever to set the
date of a public hearing for Tuesday, June 13,2000 at 8:00 p.m., in the Board of
Trustees room to enact a local law regarding the use of sidewalks for commercial
activity, amending Section 93-4 of the Code of Village of Sleepy Hollow.
Upon discussion, a vote was held. The motion was carried 7-0.

A motion was made by Trustee Stever and seconded by Trustee Higle that the
Board of Trustees hereby authorize the Mayor to execute an Agreement with the
New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee for a "Buckle Up New York"
grant (PT-6028011) in the amount of $2,562 for the period October 1,1999 through
September 30,2000.
The purpose of this resolution is to enable the Mayor to execute the paperwork for a
grant initiated by Sleepy Hollow Police Department Chief Warren. The motion was
carried 7-0.

A motion was made by Trustee DeFelice and seconded by Trustee Rodriguez that
the Mayor proclaim Thursday, May 25,2000 as Sleepy Hollow Senior Citizens Day
and that official and appropriate recognition be made on the occasion of the 25th
anniversary of the founding of the original North Tarrytown Senior Citizens
organization. The motion was carried 7-0.

A motion was made by Trustee DeFelice and seconded by Trustee Zieja that
Saturday, May 27,2000. be proclaimed North Tarrytown High School Alumni Day in
recognition of the alumni activities of the former North Tarrytown High School who
are holding a series of events the entire Memorial Day weekend. The motion was
carried 7-0.

There being no other business before the Board of Trustees, Trustee Higle moved and
Trustee Hart seconded that the meeting be adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
