Present: Frank Arvan, Chairman Elena Malunis Robert Barstow Lou Falasca Also Present: James Margotta, Bldg. Inspector Absent: Annagret Rice Mr. Arvan started the meeting at 8:15 PM. He made a motion to approve the minutes from the meeting of January 24, motion was seconded by Robert Barstow. Motion carried. IN THE MATTER OF rytown . N. Y. ADMAC REALTY, 32-34 Beekman Avenue. North Tar- Mr. John Oliva represented Video Vision and Village Wine and Spirits Liquor store. He presented two different signs for the storefronts of each store which would be in neon. Members of the board did not like the concept for the Video Vision storefront, and felt that the Wine and Spirit sign should be more creative. Board made recommendations to Mr. Oliva for creative signage, and asked that he submit new designs before the next meeting. The discussion was tabled for the next meeting. IN THE MATTER OF CANDIDA P. CORTESI. 203 Valley Street, North Tarrytown. N. Y. Ms. Cortesi wishes put up white vinyl siding with gray trim on the outside of her house. A dead chimney on the side of the house would also be removed from the roof to the top of the first story. Mr. Falasca suggested that removing the whole chimney from the side of the house would give the new siding a cleaner look. Frank Arvan made a motion to approve the new siding and was seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion carried. IN THE MATTER OF MR. MARIO SCAPPATICCI. 49 Dell Street. North Tarrytown. N. Y. Mr. Scappaticci would like to replace the cedar siding on the front of his house with white vinyl siding, replace 3 windows and two doors. Mr. Arvan asked about the color siding on the sides and rear of the house, and he stated that they were stained cedar, and he planned to keep them at that color. 14 �Page ^ The Board suggested that Mr. Scappaticci replace the whole house with the white vinyl siding and he explained that it was too expensive. The reason why he wanted to do only the front was that the sun dried and bleached out the color of the front siding. Board felt the look he would achieve with the white front siding and beige cedar shingles would not be aesthetically pleasing to the area. Lou Falasca made a motion to approve the request as it, however, it was not seconded by anyone. Board denied Mr. Scappaticci's request. IN THE MATTER OF VINCENT BUONANNO. 132 Van Tassel1 Avenue. North Tarrytown. N. Y. Mr. Buonanno presented the board with addition to his house. He received a Board earlier. He plans to extend the porch. The exterior will have siding house and around the sides to meet the plans for a second story variance from the Zoning addition over the present up to the chimney of the existing siding. Mr. Mark Garro of General Motors Corporation presented the Board with 4 free standing signs advertising GM products. He stated the signs would be put in at 4 different locations on the property. Elena Malunis asked if GM had a copy of the Village Sign Ordinance and he assured her that someone in their legal department was aware of the Code. She stated that GM and the Board would be wasting each other's time to discuss the matter of the free standing signs as they were not in the code. A motion to deny the signs as submitted was made by Elena Malunis and seconded by Frank Arvan. Motion carried. IN THE NATTER OF UNCLE JERRY'S RESTAURANT. No. Broadway. North Tarrytown. N. Y. Mr. Nimi Badaly of Badaly and Badaly architects, as requested by the Board at their last meeting, presented new plans for the renovation of the proposed new restaurant. He presented the original plans, together with alternative 2 and 3. The Board nominated alternative 3 as the favored plan which showed a wraparound type green house, mansard roof with matching shingles as that are presently on the existing roof. A motion to certify the plans as approved was made by Lou Falasca and seconded by Elena Malunis. IN THE MATTER OF BROSTOFF BUICK-CADILLAC. No. Broadway. North Tarrytown. N. Y. The sign blocks the view of the dealership when people drive north. Mr. Margotta will notify Tappan Motors (who owns the property) to have the sign removed within 3 0 days. A number of suggestions were made to Mr. Fitzgerald as to the type of advertising he could use on the building.
