Present: Deputy Mayor, Mario DiFelice Robert Higle Patricia M. Rodriquez James Hart Donald Stever Trustees I Also Present: Dwight H. Douglas, Village Administrator Brian Murphy, Village Special Counsel Jimmy Warren, Police Chief At 8:00 p.m. Deputy Mayor DiFelice called a special meeting of the Board of Trustees to order. 1. A public hearing to receive comments on proposed legislation providing an early retirement incentive to eligible municipal employees was opened oil a motion of Trustee Stever, seconded by Trustee Hart and carried unanimously. Trustee Stever read the legal notice into the record. Counsel Murphy spoke regarding the criteria that must be met for the retirement incentive to take effect, i.e., there must be a cost savings to the village as well as compliance with other conditions. No one spoke in opposition. On a motion by Trustee Stever, seconded by Trustee Higle, and carried unanimously, the public hearing was closed. I 2. A public hearing to receive comments on a proposed fire lane to be located in the driveway of 245 North Broadway was opened on a motion of Trustee Higle, seconded by Trustee Rodriguez and carried unanimously. Trustee read the published legal notice into the record. Chief Korzelius spoke in favor of the proposed lane, noting that vehicles were parking in the driveway in areas not intended for parking and could well impede access for fire fighting vehicles. Mr. Amenta, the owner of the property also spoke in favor of the proposed fire lane, indicating that the driveway parking was not desirable and a fire lane would be beneficial for the safety of those working or visiting his office buildings. On a motion of Trustee Stever, seconded by Trustee Rodriguez the public hearing was closed. �3. On a motion of Trustee Stever, seconded by Trustee Rodriguez and carried unanimously by the members present Warrants A08/13/2002, F08/13/2002, H08/13/2002. were approved, and the Treasurer was authorized to pay the bills subject to the Mayor's approval and signature. Deputy Mayor DiFelice asked for a moment pf silence in memory of Angelo Verdi. At 8:20 p.m. on a motion of Trustee Hart, seconded by Trustee Higle, passed unanimously the meeting of the Trustees was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, DwighUl. A copy of the proposed local law is available upon request at the Office of the Village Clerk. All persons are entitled to attend and be heard at this Public Hearing.
