Present: Robert Barstow, Acting Chairman Elena Malunis Annegret Rice Also Present: Absent: James Margotta, Building Inspector Francesca Lorenz, Recording Secretary Frank Arvan Lou Falasca A motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting was tabled due to lack of a quorum. IN THE MATTER OF THE SALVATION ARMY. BEEKMAN AVENUE. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK A representative from the Salvation Army appeared before the board with a design for a new sign to replace the one they took down due to dry-rot on the outside of the frame. Elena Malunis discussed the fact that as it stands now the building has too many signs. She counted 7. She also asked what were the plans regarding the marquee in front of the building. After a brief discussion, it was decided to table the discussion until the next meeting. It was also suggested that the Building Inspector write a letter to Mr. Larry Rodriquez, owner of the building, and ask him to remove the marquee. IN THE MATTER OF LOUISE CARTER. 54 HUDSON STREET. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK The applicant had the existing porch torn down, and replaced with a new one. After a brief discussion with the contractor,a motion to approve the design was made by Bob Barstow, and seconded by Elena Malunis. IN THE MATTER OF THE JOYNER PROPERTY. CLINTON STREET. NORTH TARRYTOWN, NEW YORK Mr. George Topper, attroney for the Joyner, and an architect submitted new plans for the exterior of the town house. New plans indicated fluted columns, and entrance canopy above the door, double hung windows, and changed the staircase. Railroad ties would be used as a planter border. Motion to approve was made by Elena Malunis, seconded by Bob Barstow. Motion pass unanimously. 24 �Page ^ IN THE MATTER OF BROSTOFF CADILLAC. NORTH BROADWAY. NORTH TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK Mr. Fitzgerald appeared before the board and asked for approval for signs as presented to the Board. Signs will be gray with block letters. Elena Malunis made a motion to approve the design of the sign, Annegret Rice seconded. An informal discussion then took place regarding signs on used cars, and it was agreed that just the year, model and price written on the windows of the cars would be allowed. IN THE MATTER OF THE TORNELLO GAS STATION. NORTH BROADWY. NORTH TARRYTOWN Mr. Tornell and his architect presented Plans to the board showing the size and diminsions of the planned gasoline canopy. Both again indicated the safety features of the canopy. Elena Malunis questioned all the other signs at the station, and felt that the logo signs and other advertisements were too many. A motion to approve the Citgo signs and the canopy was made by Annegret Rice, seconded by Bob Barstow. Elena Malunis voted no. Mr. Margotta wanted the minutes to indicate that approval was granted only for the 3 Citgo signs and the canopy. IN THE MATTER OF THE AMENTA PROJECT. NORTH BRODAWAY. NORTH TARRYTOWN. N. Y. 10591 As requested at the last meeting of the ARB, Mr. Amenta returned with detail drawings of the proposed new building together with samples of the materials to be used on the building. Building will be red brick with grey limestone, anodozied bronze windows, and parking under the building. Elena Malunis made a motion to approve the design of building as presented, Annegret seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously.
