Present: Frank Arvan, Chairman Lou Falasca Elena Malunis Annegret Rice Robert Barstow Also Present: James Margotta, Building Inspector Francesa Lorenz, Recording Secretary IN THE MATTER OF CHARLES SHIBETTI. 144 NEW BROADWAY, NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. Mr. Shibetti appeared before the ARB and explained he would like to replace the garage doors with overhang doors and put gray siding with white trim. He also wanted to know why he had to appear before the Board, and was informed that new ordinances have been past over the last two years, and in that time, the ARB was created. Lou Falasca made a motion to approve his request to replace siding and motion was seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF NORMAN BEAMER & DIANE TASCA. 150 MILLARD AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. Peter Cole, Architect, appeared before the Board on behalf of the applicants. They are adding a family room and deck. After a brief discussion regarding variances, also that a pier would be added under the foundation. Elena Malunis made a motion to approve the plans for the addition, Annegret Rice seconded motion. Motion was passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF R. PICHARD. Ill CORTLANDT STREET. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. This is a request for a sign approval for Hidalgo Grocery. This is a continued discussion from last month. The sign would be a painted red background, 8 ft. long, with 8" high white letters, centered over the window. A motion to approve the sign was made by Lou Falasca, seconded by Robert Barstow. Elena Malunis and Annegret Rice abstained. Frank Arvan voted yes. Motion passed 3-2. 26 �Page IN THE MATTER OF THE NORTH TARRYTOWN VARIETY STORE. 76 BEEKMAN AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. Elda Lillo, owner of the store, appeared before the board, she paid $700.00 for store front window decoration. It was decided to give her a 6 month approval for store front, and she must resubmit application for approval of window decoration. Current window decoration must come down before January 1, 1991. A motion to let the window decoration stay up until January 1 and that she must reapply for approval in late December, 1990 was made by Lou Falasca, seconded by Annegret Rice. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF THE LATINO RESTAURANT. (MANUEL & MARTHA PIEDRA) 68 BEEKMAN AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. The hearing concerns a store front decoration done without prior approval. Applicants were not present. Elena Malunis made a motion to send a letter to the applicants requesting that they remove the window decoration 15 days after receiving notice. Motion was seconded by Annegret Rice. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF IRENE CALLAS. 66 BEEKMAN AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. (Hispanic Advancement Program) This hearing involves two matters. One is the unfinished window decoration, and the second one is for a storefront sign. Elena Malunis made a motion to ask the owner to have the window decoration border removed. NEW YORK (JAYMAR LEASE CORP.) Applicant appeared before the Board and stated he wished to remove all plastic inserts on the free standing signs on his property. He was told all signs on his property were currently in non-compliance with Village Code. Elena Malunis made a motion to grant a temporary permit for 60-90 days , and at the end of that time, signs will have to be removed (November 1st, 1990). Motion was seconded by Annegret Rice. This was a preliminary hearing regarding signs for the awnings. Mr. John Crouch, architect for Sleepy Hollow Motors appeared before the Board and provided drawings for the Board to review regarding signage. Several suggestions were made by the Board as to advertising on the proposed awning. The Village Code does not allow automobile logos on signs. The product name of the cars would have to appear on the awning along with the dealership's logo. Mr. Crouch will present new signage plans next month. Mr. Crouch also presented several new drawings regarding changes to the various buildings on the property and asked the Board to allow Sleepy Hollow Motors to erect railroad ties on the property of the used car lot together with new plantings to prevent further erosion along the property. Mr. Falasca made a motion to allow Sleeply Hollow Motors to put in railroad ties together with plantings at the used car lot on North Broadway. Elena Malunis seconded motion.
