PRESENT: Frank Arvan, Chairman Lou Falasca Robert Barstow Elena Malunis Annegret Rice Also Present: James Margotta, Building Inspector Francesca Lorenz, Recording Secretary IN THE MATTER OF BRIANS JEWELRY STORE. 113 BEEKMAN AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK. This was a request by the merchant for approval of the existing sign on his window. Lou Falasca and Frank Arvan agreed that the existing sign does not adhere to the Village's sign code. Mr. Falasca made a motion to deny the request. Elena Malunis seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously. It was agreed that the merchant will submit a new design. Item tabled until the next meeting. IN THE MATTER OF THE CHESTNUT STREET CONDOS. CHESTNUT STREET. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK. Mr. Arvan asked the the builder Mr. D'Orio why the modulars were not built according to the plans as submitted and certified by the ARB. Mr. D'Orio stated they weren't aware of the error until the modulars were in place. Mr. Gismonano the architect for the project stated it was too late to install the bay windows at this /^^^t^t^JuL point. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK Mr. Ferrera submitted a sign design for his store front. Board felt the design was not within the code and made several suggestions as to improve the design. Item was tabled for the next meeting to be held September 26, 1990. IN THE MATTER OF EDWARD MASSARO. 190 VALLEY STREET. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK Plans were submitted by co-owner Ms. Palliti for the planned conversion of a garage to a handicapped apartment. After a brief discussion concerning the brick veneer, Mr. Lou Falasca moved to approve the design and drawings. Motion was seconded by Robert Barstow. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF MR. & MRS. CHEPIGA. 25 PINE STREET. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK Mr. Barstow removed himself from the discussion on this project as he is the architect who designed drawings. Mr. Chepiga is building a one story addition to the rear of the existing house, which will include a family room, bedroom and laundry room. The new vinyl siding will match existing vinyl siding. Mr. Falasca made a motion to approve drawings, motion was seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF JAMES HUVANE. 127 HIGHLAND AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK Applicant presented plans to the Board regarding a new addition to rear of present structure. Mr. Lou Falasca made a motion to approve the plans, seconded by Elena Malunis. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF JOHN ARCATE. 225 WEBBER AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK This is a request to replace an existing shed on the applicant's property. New shed will be approximately the same size as the current one and the exterior will match the vinyl siding on the applicant's home. �Page Mr. Falasca moved to approve the plans for the new shed contingent on the Zoning Board's approval. Annegeret Rice seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF SLEEPLY HOLLOW MOTORS. NO. BROADWAY. NORTH TARRYTOWN. N. Y. Mr. John Crouch, architect, presented new drawings. will cover the roof air conditioning system. A parapret At 310 No. Broadway the outside brick will be cleaned and awnings will be placed over the door. Elena Malunis moved to approve sign on the awning and also recommends that sign on wall be changed to Sleepy Hollow Motors and letters should be same size as on the awnings. She later amended resolution to exclude the wall sign, as the letters would not be large enough. Added to the motion was the contingent that brand names be eliminated. It was also suggested that the horse's legs used on the logo be corrected to include the whole leg and hoof. After a long discussion it was concluded that the phone number be eliminated from all signs. Motion was seconded by Bob Barstow. Motion passed unanioumsly. Mr. Crouch asked to come before the Board at some future date concerning a variance regarding the phone number on the signs, motion was tabled. Being no further business, public meeting adjourned. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Regarding signs on the used cars, it was decided that white stick on letters should be placed on the windshields of the cars indicating just the year of the car.
