PRESENT: Frank Arvan, Chairman Robert Barstow Elena Malunis Annegret Rice Lou Falasca Also present: James Margotta, Building Inspector Francesca Lorenz, Recording Secretary IN THE MATTER OF TAPPAN CAR WASH. 2 05 VALLEY STREET. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK Mr. Edward Bueti, applicant appeared before the Board and requested sign approval. Currently there is a roof sign over the building advertising "Car Wash". Mr. Lou Falasca moved that the sign request be granted provided that the sign is placed over the garage door and the roof sign removed. Also that a letter be sent to the owner of the building advising him to notify Mr. Bueti that the roof sign must be removed. A motion to approve the request was made by Mr. Lou Falasca and seconded by Annegret Rice. Motion passed 3 in favor, one against. IN THE MATTER OF AMELIA BURTON. 2 30 NO. WASHINGTON ST.. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. Applicant wishes to renovate store front and presented plans to the Board. After a brief discussion, Mr. Lou Falasca made a motion to approve the request and motion was seconded by Annegret Rice. Motion pass unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF JULIE MIRSBERGER. 137 VALLEY STREET. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. This matter is a sign request for the "Foreign Car Emporium" and "All Points Towing", separate businesses operating at the same location. After a lengthy discussion with Mr. Olivera, who designed sign, the Board felt that the design was inappropriate and tabled item for next month's agenda. Mr. Minardi submitted a new drawing for fence design around the property , and after a brief discussion, Mr. Robert Barstow made a motion to approve the plans. Lou Falasca seconded the motion. Motion was passed unanimously. IN THE MATTER OF FRANK FERRARA. 19 CHESTNUT ST.. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. This is a continuation of last month's hearing. Mr. Ferrara presented a new design for proposed sign, which indicated a six foot long white sign with 10" high black letters. Elena Malunis made a motion to approve the design, motion was seconded by Annegret Rice. Motion was passed unanimously. BRIAN'S AUTO BODY. 249 NO. BROADWAY. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y. Applicant is before the Board to request approval of the existing sign. After a brief discussion, it was decided by the board to deny his request. It was also noted that the phone number was included on existing sign which is not allowed in the Code. Matter was tabled until next month. IN THE MATTER OF TORNELLO GAS STATION. NO. BROADWAY. N. Y. Mr. Gary Raniolo attorney represented Mr. Jack Tornello. Mr. Raniolo proceeded with a brief background on the above request for a canopy over the gasoline pumps and applicant's request to keep the pedestal sign presently located at that site. Mr. Lou Falasca made the following motion: Citgo canopy sign 24' x 24' with color band should be on Broadway facing north and internal illumination should be confined to each individual letter. Also background of canopy sign should be white. Tri-color strips which are Citgo's logo on the front only. The pedestal sign could remain, however the credit sign logos would have to be covered with a^^b^fc^plastic sheet. Approval of sign request is contingent upon the removal of all excess signs.
