A Regular Meeting of the Architectual Review Board was held on
Wednesday, October 24, 1990 at 8:00 PM in the Village Hall of
North Tarrytown, New York.
Present:

Meeting was called to order at 8:10 PM. Mr. Margotta reviewed
the agenda and in the matters of Carole's Kitchen, 171 Cortlandt
Street, No. Tarrytown, N. Y. and John Jandrucko, 192 Cortlandt
Street., No. Tarrytown, N. Y. , applicants were not present and
these mattery were tabled until next month's meeting.
IN THE MATTER OF SUN GLO CLEANERS (TIN YUAN REALTY) 52 BEEKMAN
AVENUE. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y.
This is a request for approval of a sign application. Applicant
addressed the Board and stated he wished to put an additional
sign in the window of his establishment listing his services in
both English and Spanish.
During the discussion, he was advised that his sign request was
not within the code, and that he must present a picture of store
front and a rendering of a new sign designed within the Code.
Mr. Falasca moved to deny the sign request. Motion was seconded
by Annegret Rice. Motion was passed unanimously.
IN THE MATTER OF THESESE M. VALVANO. 52 HEMLOCK DR.. NO. TARRYTYOWN. NEW YORK
This is a request to approved architect's building plans for a
new home.
A motion to approve the plans was made by Lou Falasca, seconded
by Annegret Rice. Discussion followed: Mr. Barstow discussed the
issue of windows. A frieze board was suggested together with
dental molding around the building. Also panels on the garage
doors and flat trim around windows. An option was suggested to
grant the permit for pouring the foundation only, and that new
plans be submitted to the Board within the week based on the
above suggestions.

A second motion to certify plans based on suggestions of the
Board to be submitted within the week, and to issue a permit for
the foundation only was made by Mr. Falasca, seconded by Annegret
Rice. Motion passed unanimously.
IN THE MATTER OF JULIE MERSBERGER fC &amp; M SIGN CO.) 137 VALLEY
ST. NO. TARRYTOWN. N. Y.
This is a continuation of last month's hearing on a sign request
for "All Points Towing" and "All International Motor Car
Emporium".
Mr. Oliva presented sketches of sign request. Board held a discussion and a motion to approve was made by Mr. Falasca. Motion
was not seconded and it was decided to table discussion temporally.
IN THE MATTER OF CHARLES SHIBETTI. 14 4 NEW BROADWAY, NO. TARRYTOWN, N. Y.
Applicant presented photographs and blueprints outlining alterations, and an added kitchen.
Board discussed the lack of details on the blueprints and discussed locations of windows. The Board asked that new plans with
requested changes be submitted within the week and board will
consider approval. Mr. Shibetti requested approval to cover the
shed area, and Mr. Margotta gave his OK, based on the assumption
the new plans will be submitted within the time frame set by the
Board.
Tabled until next meeting.
S. AMENTA, 2 39 NO. BROADWAY. NO. TARRYTOWN. NEW YORK
Mr. Paul Amenta, applicant, presented new sign design for Amenta
Travel Agency. He is replacing neon sign.
New sign will have individual brushed aluminum letters mounted
onto the brick and would be illuminated by fluorescent light
covered by a shield.
A motion to approve sign was made by Annegret Rice and seconded
by Robert Barstow. Motion passed unanimously.
At this point, Mr. Oliva was asked to come before the board for a
second discussion on the signs for "All Points Towing" and "All
International Motor Car Emporium". A very long discussion ensued
regarding whether a phone number should be allowed to appear on
sign, and whether services that are provided by each business
should also go on to the sign.

Mr. Rice stated that these items were not permitted by the Code,
and therefore felt the Board should not approve the sign requests. She moved to disapprove request and was seconded by Mr.
Barstow. Motion carried.
Being no further business, meeting was adjourned at 9:50 PM.
