A Regular Meeting of the Architectual Review Board was held on
Wednesday, April 24, 1991 at 8:00 PM in Village Hall, North Tarry town , N. Y.
PRESENT:

Frank Arvan, Chairman
Lou Falasca
Juan Menendez
Annegret Rice
Brian Slavin
Robert Barstow
Marion Rielly

Also Present:

Mr. Arvan called the meeting to order at 8:00PM.
IN THE MATTER OF DONALD &amp; MARGOT STEVER.

This is a continuation of a hearing from last month. Mr. David
Perlmutter appeared on behalf of the Stevers.
Mr. Juan Menendez moved to approve the design.
Mr. Falasca
seconded the motion.
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Slavin felt the addition would take away from the design of
the house and feels the design should continue with stucco and
the windows are the addition are not consistent with the rest of
the house. Mr. Perlmutter stated that the ARB's jurisdiction
does not cover this particular problem nor can it dictate taste.
Mr. Slavin would not vote for the new design, Ms. Rielly felt
there was some consistency to the design, and Ms. Rice felt the
first addition was inappropriate.
At this point a vote was taken,4 ayes 3 no's, motion carried.
IN THE MATTER OF ACCURATE AUTO BODY. 249 No. Broadway. No. Tarry town . N. Y.
This matter is a sign request. Annegret Rice moved to approve
the sign design as well as color of the sign.
Juan Menendez
seconded the motion.
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Arvan stated that the sign was not done in 3 dimensional letters, but at this point in time it would not make a difference,
Ms. Rice feels that something should be done to help his business
and that the applicant should ask for a variance. It was suggested that the sign be centered above the garage doors. A vote
was taken on the motion and carried 6-0.

This is a request for an extension of a temporary sign approval.
A motion to approve the extension for 6 months, until October
2nd, 1991 was made by Bob Barstow and seconded by Juan Menendez.

N. Y.
This is a request for vinyl siding, replacement windows, and
repairing staircase.
The contractor appeared before the board and submitted samples
of the replacement siding. Siding will be white.
Mr. Menendez moved to approve the request, Annegret Rice seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
IN THE MATTER OF AMELIA BURTON. 230 NO. WASHINGTON ST.. NORTH
TARRYTOWN. N. Y.
This is a sign request.

Mr. Oliva represented the applicant.

This is a wood sign on maroon background with a tan border and
white letters. Sign would be 24 inches high and 89 inches long.
Mr. Slavin moved to approve the request as presented.

Mr. Leonard Sienerding, Architect appeared before the board on
behalf of the applicant, and presented plans for a new
addition.The existing addition will be taken down and will be replaced by a family room.
Mr. Barstow moved to approved the architectual plans.
Falasca seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.

At this point, the contractor representing the Joyners came
before the board and asked for approval to replace the siding at
154-158 Beekman Avenue to gray siding and at 14 Francis Street to
mint green siding.
Mr. Falasca moved to approve both requests
and motion was seconded by Mr. Menendez. It was stipulated that
the contractor must submit a formal application to the Building
Inspector. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion to approve the January 1991 minutes with corrections was
made by Annegret Rice, seconded by Robert Barstow.
Motion
carried.
A motion to approve the February 1991 minutes was made by Mr.
Falasca and seconded by Robert Barstow. Motion carried.
A motion to approve the March 1991 minutes with corrections was
made by Brian Slavin, seconded by Marion Rielly. Motion carried.
Being no further business, meeting adjourned at 9:45PM.
